How many R5 MKII,s actually got to the uk

Pre ordered my R5 JULY 20th, but did not get one on the release date, when’s the next batch coming ?

Was told by my local WEX last week that they were expecting more in September, but no date given or whether they would get enough to satisfy preorders. From reading this forum and elsewhere it seems most retailers got small allocations initially.

It’s very astute of Canon. If they delayed until they had enough to satisfy all orders it would have delayed the revenue stream and it also feeds a buying frenzy. Not saying I approve but that’s how it goes. The plus is that the well prepared buyers do not have to wait so long as they would if Canon had delayed.

For us it’s delayed anyway though. But, the thing that bugs me is that BH seems to have gotten them all. I get «in stock» alerts through other channels regurlarly. If they can fill preorders on the first day, which btw was a week before here, and I guess they have a few more preorders, and still continue to have them in stock, something is off. Two of the three biggest shops here had a total of 50 preorders. That couldn’t be filled?

As I posted in another thread, Canon states that the waiting time for new orders may be more than 6 months. I hope that you do not have to wait that long.

The R5II was released in Japan yesterday. From the translation it seems that new orders after the 29th August, may take 6 months for delivery.

Yes Mark, the shop I,m No 1 on the list at, told me they expect some more in September. Again they are in the dark as to how many or when. I just hope it’s at least 1

It’s almost funny that from the time rumors and talks of a new body to the release date, is actually shorter than from release date to actual availability … almost..

Anyone considering the R3 seriously while they wait? Currently the price difference here is $2100 … I want some of the R5 II features, but use my camera less now. And the R3 was the sh!t when it was released.. would’ve been really fun to try one out..
