From the CAMEO360 team:
There are many available action cameras in the market, but they are either too expensive or offer limited capabilities. Creating the perfect videos can also be both difficult and time consuming.

That’s why we created CAMEO360 – The world’s smallest dual lens 360º 4K active camera that helps you create and share quality photos and videos in easy ways.

We aligned ourselves with one of the top manufacturing of action cameras in the world, and we guarantee our product will be of top quality. We developed Cameo360 and Flicksee App to give our supporters the most fun, unique, user-friendly, and convenient experience with creating and sharing your moments. Right now, YOU can choose which projects and technologies becomes a reality. Help us bring the most versatile smallest dual lens 360° 4K active camera into everyone’s hands by backing us now.

Technology & Design

Our team’s effort on our development started in October 2015, we broke down our process to two stages to build both our app and our 360° camera. First, our global collaboration with top engineers coming from top Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft and Texas Instrument to develop a product that is durable, high-quality, energy efficient, and easy to use.

Most small cameras in the market practically use the same type of schematics and offer limited capabilities. We created an active camera with 4K quality and dual lenses to give you more access to capture your moments in many different ways.

Second, our team created the Flicksee App to be the perfect pair with the versatile CAMEO360 for you to easily access all the advance features to capture your moments. The Flicksee app gives you access to a new social media platform welcoming you to a new community, and allow you to easily share your moments with other popular social media channel. We streamlined the process of content creation to sharing so you can concentrate on what you do best and have fun.

Designed in California

Coming from California we believe design does matters. Our prototype offers a simple portable design, but our final production design will give the CAMEO360 a premium, sleek, and portable design you will be proud to carry and take out of your pocket anytime.

Excellence in Manufacturing

We teamed up with our manufacturing partner almost over a year ago. This is one of the two leading core manufacturers for action cameras in the market. Their vast experience in Original Design Manufacturing(ODM) gives our team an edge to be close to both design and manufacturing to have an advantage in both efficiency and cost effectiveness.

The CAMEO360 is scheduled to begin shipping in August 2017.

I'm always a skeptic. A $30,000 goal to launch a new camera, the budget should be north of $10 million.

How do backers know if a project will follow through? Launching a Kickstarter is a very public act, and creators put their reputations at risk when they do.
Backers should look for creators who share a clear plan for how their project will be completed, and who have a history of bringing their creative ventures and other projects to fruition. Creators are encouraged to share links and as much background information as possible so backers can make informed decisions about the projects they support.
If a creator has no demonstrable experience in doing something like their project or doesn't share key information, backers should take that into consideration. Does the creator include links to any websites that show work related to the project, or past projects? Does the creator appear in the video? Have they connected via Facebook?

The product is claimed to be owned by Flick Labs, Inc but there appears to be no such entity found on the internet. They have a web page for the camera.

I did find two people listed as the major officers of flick labs, all have the same last name, Nguyen is a very common Vietnamese name, so that does not necessarily mean they are related.

Amelia Nguyen Chief of Operation Officer Greater Los Angeles Area Computer Software - A student, worked at Nordstrom as a sales associate. https://www.linkedin.com/in/amelia-nguyen-309941108

Ro-land Nguyen -CEO age 20, BA in Business Administration, no business experience.

There are four others listed as associates on the kick starter page.

1. A lead software developer but no experience or credentials given, just glowing words.

2. A music Producer, no description of what he does to design a camera.
3. A Graphic Motion Designer, has solid experience as a camera operator. What does he do? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3620094/
4. A Industrial Engineer, with experience at Intel. What does a industrial Engineer do for a company that does not build anything? All manufacturing is subcontracted. I could see him in a role of making sure that a design could me manufactured within budget.

There is a Flick Labs LLC in Austin TX that appears to be defunct since 2009.

The Cameo Camera web page contains no information whatever about the company as is considered standard for a legitimate company. No contact information or phone number.

So we have a company apparently owned and operated operated by two people with no business experience, and no contact information.

To me, this increases the risk to a astronomically high level. I have many Vietnamese Engineer friends, they are all honest, incredibly hard workers, and smart. So, armed with this information, decide if you want to risk your money.

Here is some Q&A from the kick starter page that also make me wonder??

[*] Flick Labs, Inc 2-time creator 5 days ago @Andrey Vyrodov we have our team of engineers that suggested to achieve what we needed in features and maintain cost effectiveness that we collaborate with the first design and from there we are able to cut our R&D time to customize and differentiate ourselves with the final design and features. I can assure you our final product will be different.

[*] Andrey Vyrodov 5 days ago OK, then where did you get the same sketch in higher resolution 10 months later?
Also PCB is not similar but exactly the same as in 7 months old photo of Nico360.

[*] Flick Labs, Inc 2-time creator 5 days ago @Andrey Vyrodov we are a completely different company.

[*] Andrey Vyrodov 5 days ago OK, I see. Maybe my question was to vague. I'll rephrase.
Are CAMEO360 creators somehow related to creators of Nico360?

[*] Flick Labs, Inc 2-time creator 5 days ago @Andrey Vyrodov Thank you for asking that question. First, this prototype design is done by a new group of collaborative engineers that’s focus on changing the norm on action cameras. This will be the first waves of new dual lens camera in the market unlike any other that exist. We assure you our final design that is currently in the final phase of testing will be very different from Nico360 because it is designed by our design team in California. Second, our features will be different than what Nico360 offers. Our active camera will be the only camera that will be supported by our social media platform, not just for sharing on Facebook or Youtube. Lastly, our platform will allow creators to edit videos like no other. We can assure you if you had a Nico360, it will not work with our platform.

[*] Andrey Vyrodov 5 days ago Hello. Could you please shed some light on strong resemblance with project called "Nico360" started on another platform last year?
I can agree that design of two products of same kind may look very similar. But you even have exactly same hand drawn sketches (camera on tripod and guy holding camera on selfie-stick). Thank you!
