Interesting, Canon, Nikon and Pentax new models - can't wait!
Anyways, it took me 2 min to make this and if somebody finds a pattern or at least finds it interesting - here are Canon announcements from the day one (D30, May 17th 2001).

September 25 - 4 months later
Februar 22 - 5 months later
September 24 - 7 months later
Februar 27 - 5 months later
August 20 - 6 months later
Januar 29 - 5 months later
September 21 - 1 month later
February 17 - 5 months later
August 22 - 6 months later
February 21 - 6 months later
August 24 - 6 months later
February 22 - 6 months later
August 20 - 6 months later
Januar 24 - 5 months later
June 10 - 5 months later
August 26 - 1 month later
September 17 - 1 month later
March 25 - 6 months later
September 1 - 6 months later
October 20 - 1 month later
February - 4 month later

February 7 - 6 months later
So the most common delay is 6 months. In fact, there were five in a row! (10 together)
There are four announcements with a delay of 1 month.
There are six announcements with a delay of 5 months.
There are two announcements with a delay of 4 months.
The only one left is 7 months, which is the longest. From February 2011 till today is 7 months, which seems to be the right time. So we can expect something in this month, from Sept 10-30. Otherwise, it'll be more than 8 months since Canon announced something (not that it's a deal breaker, but just stating).
Another observation: Canon never announced a non-professional model after September till December (but has announced pro models in other times as well).
That's something to keep us busy^^.
