Assigning descriptors to a range of values, much like: highly acidic, moderately acidic, weakly acidic, neutral, slightly alkaline, moderately alkaline, strongly alkaline for 0 -> 7-> 14You are saying that a certain resolution threshold separates 'good' lenses from 'bad' lenses. Any way you look at it, that's value judgement. Period. Full stop.
If you look at the test results in the reviews that utilise Imatest, certain ranges are defined as poor, good, excellent, exceptional. A value judgement is eyeing an image and calling it from that, but the corner crop photos in the TDP review leave little to subjectivity, those are blurred AF!
