R5 v1.5.1 is up

Firmware Version 1.5.1 incorporates the following fix:
1. Fixes an issue that in rare instances, the camera may become inoperable when shooting in the Servo AF setting while operating the <AF-ON> button.

*Notice
Canon always appreciates user feedback on our products and services. Following the release of Firmware Version 1.5.0, we are in the process of developing an update to further optimize AF operations. We plan to publish details of the revised firmware in late March and will make an announcement on the Web site.

Firmware Version 1.5.1 is for cameras with firmware up to Version 1.5.0. If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.5.1, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

Nice!

Also they mention this is just a quick fix for the lock ups in connection to usinf AF-ON button.

Better yet is what they add in the notes;

I hope they add a couple of features to the AF like Face AF for video mode in the march update

I use servo AF and the AF-ON button for BBF with no problems. Must be for the regular use of AF-ON.

I downloaded 1.5.1 for the R6. The AF appears to be rock solid now. For me at least, on 1.5.0, the AF could never decide which eye it wanted to stick to. It would jump around like crazy. I'm not talking like hold 3-seconds then switch. It was like switch,switch,switch,swich, back and forth like crazy. Now with 1.5.1 it seems to grab the eye and hold. As of this moment everything seems to be working well.

General comments: I wish that the R5 (and R6) will have a battery compartment cartridge allowing the use of AA batteries like the 7D had in its grip, or something like the R3, one large battery that will have a bit extra lasting power than the two that are in use now.
