High-speed continuous shooting at a maximum of 16 FPS (with AE/AF)
RAW Burst mode at 30 FPS (with AE/AF)
4k 30p with no crop or pixel binning
Full HD up to 180p (I guess admin or source meant to say 180fps?)
All these are not even closer to normally what Canon delivers. Canon is a company even if they can do it technically they will not offer these in a camera at this level. Good amount of salt required here.
Can't agree with you there.
Canon is the type of company that delivers what they need to stay on top. They revolutionized the industry with AF and going EOS. They did it again with the 5D line. Between those big steps, that made them and kept them as industry leader, they gave us things to nibble on. Now with the current state of the market, what did you expect them to do?
Basically they milk whatever tech they develop to death. That makes proper business sense right? So their pre on board ADC chips, they milked that to death. We complained, and it was obvious that sony was pulling way ahead in that department. Did they do a complete redesign? Nope, they tweaked and changed things to place on board ADC to close the gap.
NOW, with the RF line, and FF MILC, where the sensor needs to be constantly read out, data crunched etc, the old mold no longer fits. YET AGAIN, they still put in their older sensor tech to hold them over (the R and RP). However, of course they were going to have to redesign the whole thing, sensor for faster readout, IBIS compatibility etc etc. It makes no financial or engineering sense to go through the effort of that level redesign to this level only to aim lower than possible for the same amount of money. They needed to aim for big tech jump from their position. WHY? For us? Of course not. For them.
A big jump forward is their usual business strategy followed by a slow walk. It will boost interest, potentially place them firmly at market leaders once again, with the new revolutionary RF system... and then?? Think they will develop at breakneck speed as sony? Nope. If they deliver more than good enough in one go, they will simply sit back and do what canon does best. Focus on user experience since that matters a lot with how you impress the regular consumer, and milk the hell out of their new tech.
After all, if they can give you a FF camera that does 12+ fps with no black out, 1/16000 E-shutter, better DR than the 5DIV, then what does sony really have to offer over that? 20 fps? Better DR (by like what 0.5 to 1 stop)?... That would be kind of it, and most regular people would shrug that off. The differentiation becomes... THE LENSES. Those RF lenses that pretty much no reviewer has complained about. By eliminating the majority of what sony can claim it does better, canon moves focus onto the optics, which is what they are pretty much best at.
