What happened to MPB Europe ?

In the past, I ordered quite a few lenses from MPB continental Europe.
Whatever was described as in "excellent" condition was indeed in excellent condition.
Yet, after a change to their website, I started to notice more and more often, that items, classed as "excellent", could suffer from moisture and even fungus damage. Of course, MPB mentions this issue, also by means of pictures.
What do I care if a lens mount is mint when the inside is rotten or close to being so? Leica's Customer Care does not even accept lenses with fungus...and they certainly know why.
Additionally, quite a few used lenses or bodies (Canon!) can be bought brand-new for less money...a new strategy?
Anyway, my confidence is a bit shattered.

Mine, too. That smells foul.
Thanks for that warning.
It's quite strange, because in a recent past, you had to look real hard to find any trace of wear on "excellent" rated lenses.
I sometimes even wondered why they haden't been declared "like new".
What I really hate is the additional statement by MPB: "some fungus (or moisture) inside, but won't affect the picture"!!!!
Not yet...
A naive or simply unknowing customer may believe this lie, only to notice, when too late, his lens has become milky white.
