The forum will be moving to a new domain in the near future (canonrumorsforum.com). I have turned off "read-only", but I will only leave the two forum nodes you see active for the time being.

I don't know at this time how quickly the change will happen, but that will move at a good pace I am sure.

Canon Rumors - Your best source for Canon news, rumors and creators

Hi everyone,
The announcement of the 1Dx came as a suprise to me because I was expecting Canon to simply buff the numbers from previous cameras. It didn't.

The 1Dx seems to raise the bar, It's a 3 in 1 camera - Sports, Studio, Low-light.

But what baffles me is the face detection in phase-af. Canon seems to be trying to extend it's reflex line as much as possible.

Will we see this sort of improvements on lower-end canon's? Will they keep the same philosophy for lower-end cameras?

I really like the XXXD and XXD line, they are small and when they fail it's 99% my fault. Therefore I'm interested to know if it's viable that canon's next XXXD model will have the 1Dx philosophy of an all-in-one camera.

Though it will never have the same standards as the 1Dx, they could keep the 18mpx that with the Digic V would mean better low-light noise and add anAF with face detection and motion tracking capabilities.

None of these two option would kill a newer 5d or 7d, but it would allow consumers - or pro's that like these models - and viable option for an all-around camera.

Tkx for any reply.
