How can you be so selfish, ever thought how much Canon must be suffering in these uncertain times?

Rebates will come when sales are slow. A rebate is offered when there is a need to stimulate sales. You usually don't do that if you are struggling to keep up with demand. I did get $200 off from a special discount that had the code published online, but that was last October.
