It was pointed out to me that Henry's (Canada) has pulled the 5D Mark II from their web site. Why? Not sure. It could be to get people to stop inquiring or a database booboo.
We'll see.

I 100% agree with you.
Well I am looking for an address at Canon Canada to send my thoughts. Needless to say they are not real pleasant, Canon is not doing anything for us who have invested in their lenses. I have only a few but 17-40 f/4 70-200 f/2.8 IS and 50 f/1.4 not to mention the 430 EX etc and other trinkets is enough to discourage moving. Or is it?
I feel like we are second rate citizens, from all accounts we have seen 100-150 cameras across the country. I have read many different forums online taken with a gain of salt of course. But when someone can walk in off the street to a local pro shop in NY without a pre-order and have a camera in hand, or worse yet Best Buy who took no pre-orders and cater to masses and not those with investments in glass.
To say I was peeved after reading about BB would be an understatement.
Off to Canon.ca to see if I can find a place to send a polite message :) Looks like CSAT (Customer Satisfaction) may be spelled NIKON if this does not get resolved soon.

I’m amazed that they still have not outfitted the Canadian shops. Henrys has a 7 to 14 day delivery period (which came up once they put the camera back on the site)- Strange since some folks (like me) are “on the list”
I better get one soon – or I’ll drive to Buffalo

I have entered a case in the Canada tracking system to get answers. I participate on dpreview as well and it has been suggested we all do same. The total lack of information is appalling. The fact that pre-orders are ignored and distribution to big box in the US is taking place is even more aggravating. I am on the list as well #8 so I am told last I checked Dec 1. I guess Henrys has received < 8 since Dec 1. The folks there are as much in the dark as we are so I cannot blame them for the lack of info.
For what it is worth I have checked the stores in Buffalo none show stock and the thread on dpreview echos the coverage is spotty.
I am not sure I have the same patience as you, much longer my bag goes to my local retailer to see what they will give me for things with a Canon name on it and a Nikon will be in my bag. They make FF sensors too.
I just got the call from Henrys Mississauga, I am goingto pickup my 5d mark ii Kit, grip and 2 extra batteries tonight….
