  1. As long as there is the EF 70-200 f4 L (non IS) for little money, optically excellent, mechanically reliable, with quick AF, I'd never even think of paying attention to the Tamron.
    And, the icing on the cake: I sold mine, after 5 years, for what I had payed for, thanks to Canon's cashback.
    Its successor being the IS II version...
  2. The non-IS Canon has been discontinued, so if you think a second-hand one without warranty is better value than $399 by all means take the risk...

    Everyone else can save $900
  3. I didnt like this one... returning it... pictures at 170 - 210 looks soft to me somehow even if i do little crop... but 399 is for sure a good value.
    Am planning to look for used Canon or atleast a Tamron G2 {increasing budget to around 1000}
