  1. This makes sense. Low price point, trying to reach people who just want a bit more from their cell phones. The optical zoom reach is far beyond anything a cell phone can do. While the 1/2.3" sensor is probably boring and inadequate to most canon rumors readers, it should be more than ample for those looking for something to fill in the gaps of their cell phones abilities.

    I think Canon and Nikon are right to make these super zooms. It's really about the only common need that a cell phone just won't be able to do for your average consumer taking snapshots.
