  1. The A1000 & A2000 may be good cameras, but they don’t fit very well in a lineup, kinda like GM’s pontiac & oldsmobile divisions. They were capable cars, but being squeezed from different lineups. Without manual controls, people might as well get the SD line which are sleeker and now fairly affordable. And the more advanced photographers want the SX, S, or G lines. So that left the A line without a home.

  3. Please feel free to show me reviews from reputable sources that are critical of those camers.

  4. I think Canon should DEFINITELY upgrade the 500D and SOON. That “crippled” 1080p at a pathetic 20fps is going to REALLY hurt them sales wise as Nikon and the other competition start releasing consumer DSLRs with FULL 1080p video.

Other than that the 500D is fine. But trust me, the lack of true HD video is gonna hurt this model sooner than later.

If Canon TRULY wants to trump Nikon, they SHOULD come out with a consumer entry level FF camera. Not a $3499 3D. WTF is that??? WHY would they come out with a MORE expensive consumer FF than the 5D??? It DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE. LOL.

No. If Canon wants to hit it out of the park, and BLOW away the competition, an AFFORDABLE entry level FF DSLR would be a REAL game changer.

If they made the next 500D or the 60D a low cost sub $2000 FF camera for the masses, it would be AWESOME.
