Refurbished Canon EOS R3 and more ‘first-time’ gear appear at Canon USA

2. Last month, I bought the RF 100-400. The price for the new lens was $20 lower than the refurb price.

   Yeah, it doesn't make much sense for Canon to price the refurbs at this amount. Might seem like a good deal IF new ones weren't also on sale. They need to drop this price another $400 IMHO, then I would purchase one. But for $200 more to be the FIRST owner of a camera with no previous issues (the reason it's a refurb) is a no-brainer.

   Refurbished gear isn't necessarily gear with issues.

5. Today is 04 May, 2023. I find it pretty remarkable that Canon USA is selling a refurbished EOS-1D X Mark III for a ('mere') $4K, USD. It would tempt me over the edge, were it not for the benefits that Canon's mirrorless technologies offer the wildlife photographer.

   The R3 is a ‘mere’ $1500 more, brand new.
