  1. Does anyone on CR have one of these monsters? I'm curious to know if there's a perceptible difference between it and the 600+TC. MTF charts don't show much, but I'm curious what real world observation is.

  2. I am a bit of a telephoto fan, and I and jonesing for this. But 14K is... a lot. 15K with sales tax.

Everything I've seen on it say IQ is better than the RF 600mm + RF 2X extender, but only slightly. Of course you have the option of the 1.4X or 2X RF extenders with this. Which you can't with the 600mm. Of course with the 600mm you can shoot at 600mm or 840mm.

I can shoot at 2400mm. I have an EF 600mm f4 IS II and the EF 2X Extender III. So that's 1200mm. This combo is know for being very sharp.
You normally can't stack 2X converters, but if you use an RF camera, you need an EF to RF converter. I have a third party converter that has been drilled out to fit over the 2X RF Extender. So that gets me to 2400mm. Image quality is good but not necessarily better than just shooting 1200mm and cropping.
