I emailed B&H (see below) to ask why the price was not $200 off of the “regular” price.
They responded:
“Canon only honors the instant rebate if when the kit is sold at list price. They do not honor the reabte when you buy below list such as buying them separately.”

This was my email, to which B&H responded:
“Why is the price on this kit (CAEDRXSIKSK) $1049?
The components separately (CAEDRXSIKB and CA552504IS) are only $699+$255=$954.
Yes, I understand there is a rebate. But the rebate is $200. Therefore the final kit price should be $954-$200=$754. (Not $1049-$200=$849.)
Why is the kit price $95 more than buying the parts separately?”
