Rumors have been few and far between, will that mean PMA won't bring us too many goodies? I'll keep trying to find out.

Good point, I guess I didn’t really think of that.
Entry level cameras are always huge cash-flow items. I see it every year where Canon or Nikon comes out with the new entry level camera and people are already selling their cameras they bought three months earlier to “upgrade” to the current model. I Personally think that in the Rebel line the only true updates were the 350D and 450D–but apparently others think different.
Agreed, if Canon just updates the 35mm f/2 with USM then all of the 1.6 crop users will have their standard lens.
The 70-200 is used at 2-3x the focal length as the 24-70, so IS is more useful there since you’re generally shooting faster shutter speeds. You’re also already carrying around a giant lens so the size isn’t an issue.
