Spent last week in north new mexico enjoying the views and snowboarding in Sipapu. It was utterly amazing and really wish I could live in Taos now. Big art guy here and that town is something else with the art industry.
Here are three images from the trip. You can check out my www.loganhickle.com or http://www.flickr.com/photos/logan_hickle/ for more images of my work!

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Canon 6D - Meike grip on ebay for under $40
« on: December 30, 2012, 12:24:10 AM »
I have a Meike grip for my T3i. When I received it in the mail all worked fine. After about 2 photoshoots with it the main shutter button would not take pictures. It would focus, but not take pictures. All of the other buttons worked as well. So left it alone for a few months. Shot a wedding this past Saturday, slapped it on to try it and the button is mysteriously working again. Let's hope it stays that way! Nonetheless, great feel to the grip and might as well be canon brand.

Black & White / Re: B&W Self Portraits
« on: November 06, 2012, 10:08:28 AM »
The way I think of it is, there is meaning behind my tattoo that represents me and my personality. I dont mind if someone cannot recognize me in a self portrait. Self portraits dont have to be beneficial to others, they dont always have to recognize me. Self portraits are to reflect on who you are.

Just my thoughts behind the image.

Hey everyone,

Got an email from Ebay and the mark II body is on sale. It says limited quantity available so I am not sure how long it will last.

Thanks for the tips and information!

RLPhoto:

-I will try having them close their mouth fully. I have tried it a few times and it looks to forced but I will try again. Might have just been that person.
-I was trying to catch their knee as much as I could. Missed a few times. I also hate the look it creates all together. And elbows. My first shoot, with elbows locked out her arms looked weird. So definitely watching the angles.
-Definitely seen that technique of looking away and then back at the camera. Also seen it with hair and props. Never put it into use yet though. Definitely need to though.

I am lucky enough to coach gymnastics, so the female to male ratio is in my favor. Definitely a plus, surrounded by good looking ladies all day.

Portrait / Second Portrait Shoot Ever!
« on: October 15, 2012, 11:12:23 PM »
Hey everyone,

So last week I posted my first portrait shoot, that thread can be found about 5 posts down, and tonight I posted on Flickr my second portrait shoot. These two girls were my coworkers. I originally intended to only shoot Ashley, the one in the black dress. However, Kerine with the long brown hair hopped in at the last minute as well. All around I am mostly happy with how they came out. But Kerine was definitely more comfortable in front of the camera. Let me know what you think and any tips!!! Thanks! Also, these were shot with a rebel t3i and 50mm 1.8
