Congrats, you'll love your new 5D MKIII!

Well after months of deliberation have finally decided to do it!   :)

Have jumped from an APS-C camera to a Full Frame...

I have been using a Canon 350D (apparently Rebel XT/Kiss for those in the US)....for years and is perfectly still fine to use, but today finally put a bend in the bank plastic and jumped to the 5D MKIII...

I'm like a kid waiting for christmas  ;D but also knowing the cost just laid out  :o for what effectively is a hobby and not a money earner...

Roll on next weeks delivery!

Let us know what you think when you get it.

The Wedding Pro Flash Bracket worked out great.  Glad I purchased it.  One very nice feature is that it folds up flat and is easily stored in your camera bag.

The Wedding Pro Flash Bracket looks promising from Really Right Stuff.

Anyone have this and can provide some feedback?

This is the bracket I use. It is very versatile and gets the flash higher in relationship to the lens. I will always try to bounce first. If I can't then I pullout the bracket and shoot direct. I also will also crank up the ISO.  A very solid product.

Thanks for the reply.  I just ordered it and look forward to trying it out.

I'm new to BIF.  How did you put together this series of shots?

Thanks

Update  ;D got a email from ups that my package will be here tomorrow!

Thanks Abe's!

Don't thank them too well - it's poor form not to only charge your card on despatch.   >:(

Update:  I also got an email from UPS indicating the camera is due to be delivered this Wednesday.  While I'm happy that the camera is on its way, I'm not crazy about the fact that my credit card was billed two weeks ago when I ordered and not when the camera was shipped.  No real harm done, I guess, but this was the first time I bought from Abe's and will be a factor the next time I buy something.  I've bought from Adorama and B & H often and neither of them bill until the item is shipped.

Food for thought!

I ordered a body only on March 9th.  Credit card was billed for full amount.  They left a voicemail asking for patience after I had asked why I was billed the full amount with no camera shipped.  My status is currently "sent to warehouse".

I'm a new member here but I've been lurking on this site for the past year.  I was waiting on the release of the 5d Mark III but due to the last two big "anouncements" that did not include a new 5D Mark III, I pulled the trigger this past Tuesday to take advantage of Amazon's reduced price.  Needless to say I felt pretty lucky since Amazon raised its price an hour or two later.

This event opened the floodgates of a lot of pent-up waiting and now I have Canon fever.  I also purchased the 8 - 15 fisheye, the 100mm macro IS, the mp-e 65, the mt-24ex flash along with a lot of other sundries.

By tomorrow it all arrives!  The night before I was contemplating buying through Henry's in Canada which would have been a great deal also (even with Paypal's 2.9% cut--I live in the U.S.).

I've learned a lot on this site.

A big thank-you to neuroamatomist for his insightful posts!
