GUYS! Chill!
I was referring to the generation/technology of the sensor and not to the number of the megapixels themselves! I don't care about the megapixel count as long as they are more than 8 (personally 10mp is enough for my needs).

I just want to see a "next gen" sensor by Canon though. Something that will be on par with Sony/Oly sensors.

Perhaps you think the T4i has the same sensor, after its also 18mp, and then the T5i too.

I said "the same" because iq wise there is no improvement!

Does the G11 have the same sensor as the old Canon 5D?  Both are 12 mp, as is the Nikon D700.

Shocking as it may be, I've read somewhere that they differ a bit! Correct me if I'm wrong

I want to know what this lovely community thinks about this matter!
I know I will be a bit disappointed, but don't get me wrong: I won't judge the camera just from its sensor. It can be a great DSLR no matter what sensor it will have..

I believe that it will have the same 18mp sensor (hope Canon will prove me wrong!). In fact I think that Canon will introduce the new sensor in 7d ii..

Of course a camera is a lot more things than the sensor and Canon cameras are great overall, but it 'd be nice to see a new aps-c sensor!

Took this hanging out the window of a racing car low to the ground with 150km/h. The raindrops were horribly painful...

If you like the results of the summicron, try the summilux versions of the 35mm and 80mm lenses.

Third Party Manufacturers / Leica Summicron-R 50mm f/2

I got this lens a month ago at a bargain price, but still haven't found the time to use it properly.
Today I took about 20 photos (portraits and some car shots). Compared to the Zeiss Planar 50 1.4, I find the image quality of this Leica more pleasing for portraits (softer contrast and better bokeh).
Unfortunately the human model I shot doesn't want his images on the Net, so I can only show you the car photo
I'll try to update this topic with some more interesting photos in the future!


Canon 400d, ISO 100, f/2, 1/500.
