Hi Guys,

My first post here. A picture I took a few years ago, when I just bought my 400mm f/5.6. A bit too noisy, but I was going for BIF pictures and had my 40D at iso 800  :o. Taken at f7.1 and 1/3200sec.

I see Grey Herons once in a while but have not captured any half as well as you have -- very nice job!

Thanks Hank,

I got lucky. The heron came flying straight at me but decided to take a different direction. It was just like he was going to stop in mid air. Took a very sharp turn to the left and disappeared.

Grtz,
Peerke

Really like this.  Great shot Peerke!

Thank you for the reply. I've looked at your owl pictures. Super.

Hi guys,

Here's my best friend as a baby:

And as a grown up friend.

Krummel is a mix between a south African Boer Boel and a Japanese Tosa. Best dog I ever had.

Will Canon releases more NEW lenses to support 75+ MP?

Nope, they leave that to Sigma  :P.

Bring out you're dead.

Can someone explain the "terrific" ISO performance?

If you take a 15mp photo at high ISO and scale it down to 1280x720 the noise will pretty much disappear.

Got it, thanks  8).

Could it have to do with the IR filter of your 600D? I had the same with my 40D until I put a IR filter in front (B&W 486) and the margenta color cast was gone.

Canon will not listen. They are not interested in rumor sites. They know the facts already. Consumers will buy, no matter what.  8)

EOS Bodies / Re: 21mp Sensor in the 7D Mark II? [CR1]

18 MP. 21 MP. 24 MP. Even 15 MP.  Frankly, I don't especially care.  If it does a full stop or more better in terms of high ISO noise performance for RAW images vs. the 7D, a 7DII will be interesting to me. If not, no interest.

+1. And it better be more  :P.

Higher ISO - not as in 'available as a setting' but as in 'useable with low noise'.  IMO this is unlikely unless Canon fundamentally changes their sensor fab tech, but at least 1-stop and preferably more.  If ISO 8000 on a 7DII looks like ISO 3200 on the 7D, I'll most likely buy one. AF at f/8 and a multicontroller on the grip would cinch the deal.
That would be a very fascinating thing to see if Canon pulls it off!

+1. Better ISO performance is all I would love to see (and to make me upgrade). All the other upgrades are nice to have but not necessary for me.

Oops, this sounds to me like Canon is trying to tell us: "Please don't jump to the dark side, although for the time being we are not able to sell you equal equipment. We are working on some great stuff, so bare with us."

What about sending your pictures straight to the computer, which will show them "instant" on a big (TV) screen. People like to see themself on big screens during an event  8).

if you are willing to showcase your keeper rate and display all of your non-keepers... that would work.

I will never do, since I'm just an amature and will never do event photography, but I once saw a guy with a setup like that. Although not all pictures were that good, people just don't care (or look) and are in awe of what they see on the screen, specially if they are on it themself.
There are so many people out there getting payed for the job just because they have a big camera and some other fancy stuff to show, not because they make good pictures and only show post processed keepers.
Compare it with music. There is a small percentage of people listening to music, they will never settle for MP3, but the majority out there don't care (or hear) because they are not listening.
People at events most of the time don't look at the pictures but just see them.
