EOS Bodies / Re: Possible Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Spec Talk [CR2]

I'm hoping for an awesome 24MP Sensor with a big DR upgrade, -3 EV focus sensitivity and many focus points like the 5DIII/1DX but more to the corner please! And a great/better ISO quality like the 6D/1dX..  4K would be nice and 1080p/60fps please...!

I saw this heavy lens on the Photokina :), it was really big and sadly behind a showcase.
I'm wonder about tests and shots!

Canon General / Re: Canon USA Addresses the Gray Market

So ... up yours, Canon!
So, why are still here?  Go Sony or go Nikon.  We'll be glad if you do.
dak723, please only speak for yourself and not for others. Because they might have different opinions.

I have a different opinion much closer to AvTvM.

We live in a globalized world. That also means today I have to work/live here tomorrow there.
When I buy an original Canon camera say in Germany from an authorized retailer (in Germany) and I havt to move say to the US then I don't want to send it back to Germany, when I want it repaired or have warranty issues. Because an original Canon product is original in all countries of the world.

But Canon decides to separate the world into different markets and tries to milk them as much as possible.
And if someone is smart enough to buy an original Canon product somewhere else cheaper ( my definition of "parallel" or "gray market") it is up to Canon Global to handle the point if a service is done in a different country.

Of course different countries have different laws about product warranties and this is the only argument against me.

And of course it is something completely different, if someone is offering a product labeled as original that is not.
That is nothing I call "parallel" or "gray market" but fraud and an issue for the prosecutor.

You're totally right!

This strategy sucks and nations have to prevent this... :(

oh my... still 60fps at 1080p... I think I'm not the only one who means that the Canon line-up stagnates...
And Canon doesn't notice this, the competition and what the people want.  :-X

A mirroless fullframe camera would be so nice! please with a EF adapter with AF.

Make the production costs down and rise the prices up... yeah nice...  :-\  :-X

A full frame compact cam from Canon would be nice.. with some nice pancake lenses and EF bayonet...

B&h mail says it is weather sealed with an optional protection filter.
First time seeing that! Any other lens have that kind of sealing?

thx for the info! :)

Hm seems that the 16-35 doesn't has weather sealing?  :-\

Pricewatch Deals / Re: Deal: Canon EOS 5D Mark III Body $2559

"May not ship to Germany" hm this sucks  :-\

I say Sigmas AF in the new lenses is pretty good for the money....
If I can't trust it, it's worthless.
That was how I felt with the erratic and occasionally brilliant old model Sigma 50mm f/1.4.
My two copies got used for some personal work, endless testing but simply couldn't be trusted for client work. Therefore ultimately worthless.

I truly hope Sigma finds an AF fix for the new lenses deliverable via firmware. The optics are clearly awesome, but without dependable AF they're a commercial no-go.

I can totaly sign this!

the AF is the main thing and it need to work to 85-95% perfect...(for lens > 800€/1000$) I think..

The AF problems are really bad =(.... I hate AF inconsistency at events... I own the old 50mm of Sigma, and sometimes it or my camera (5DII) produced faulty AF photos.

I think the info should be posted, there's people who save and spend their money thinking they will be getting a great quality item. Canon should fix the problem on their dime, not ours

yes!! You should post this stuff ASAP!! For us... the customers!
