If the SL1 has a new sensor, it doesn't look very good. Just ran across this review and they put it up against the Canon 7D and D7100 in low light for photos and videos.

I can't believe it will be June and we will still not have a new 70D. I'm beginning to believe the report that the 7D mark II will be a 2014 model. Canon better be doing some awesome stuff in R&D to be delaying these cameras. I guess if they put out a new great performing sensor, we will all be happy. In the meantime, there have been so few Canon products that I have actually purchased since the 5D3 and the good products they did put out were priced extremely high.

You should look into the new Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe will only be offering limited support now to CS6 products and there will likely be no update (CS7) for you thus it probably does not make sense for you to pay the huge upfront cost for CS6 when there is no upgrade path.

Also, on the new creative cloud, you can use both Windows & OSX versions and interchange them if you ever switch platforms. This would be the best for you

There are many things to be liked about Adobe creative cloud. But one thing I hate is that there is no exit at all. If for some reason you decide you can't justify $50/month or if Adobe raises prices later, once you stop paying adobe, you can't even open your files it seems! The is freaking horrible if true. We will see if Adobe responds but right it doesn't look good. Although now that they have basically canceled the stand alone seats, what choice do we have. We are all going to be moving to the cloud out of lack of options but Adobe will likely see the influx as positive reinforcement and will change nothing. Adobe needs to come out with a free reader program like the article says or else I don't know how I can keep using it.

Canon needs it. I have the SL1 right now and it is actually smaller than I thought with pretty good quality. Paired it up with the 40mm f/2.8 pancake and it works nicely. However, I still long for that Fuji X100s. It just looks unbelievable. Take a look at those High ISO files too, Amazing. Canon should be able to do this if they wanted to although I'm wishing for a viewfinder. Big help on the Fuji so I'd like it there unless it means a way bigger camera.

For me, I'd just rather go with the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC. You still get the stabilization and get a 1 stop advantage for $200 less. Build quality and sharpness are very close as well...though the macro mode will be wished.

I guess i'll be hanging on to my 7D for a little bit longer. There are some items that I would love to see updated, but it still holds its own, even against the new Nikon D7100. Especially for sports/wildlife. 2 Card slots would be nice though.

Looks like Canon is still a favorite for sports and wildlife in many ways though the Nikon does have some tempting features.

Switched to the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC. Cheaper than the 240-70L V1 and I really wanted IS for the video. I was looking at the Canon 24-70 f/4 IS to get stabilization but I did not want to give up f/2.8 and the Tamron still looks better:

Just get the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC and you get the best of both worlds. It is an awesome lens, great build quality, f/2.8 aperture, and image stabilization. How do you beat that! Plus it is way cheaper than even the version 1 Canon 24-70 f/2.8. The new V2 Canon 24-70 f/2.8 is a slightly bit sharper than the Tamron but the Tamron is still way better than what you have been using, the Canon 24-105mm and is even better than the new Canon 24-70 f/4L IS

So the new Fuji X100s looks awesome so far. Reviews all say it is unbelievable and it is sold out everywhere. Check out the low light results too...look better than the 5D3! I wonder why Canon doesn't try to compete in this market of enthusiasts who love the manual controls in a smaller body with good low light and AF performance. The only problem (if you call it that) with the X100 is that it is a fixed lens. Canon could make an interchangeable lens body if they wanted to I'm sure with whatever sensor they use in the new 70D (hopefully a new one). The EOS M just wasn't close to competing on this level. Hopefully a new Canon sensor comes with the 70D and I don't care how many MP it is if it looks great in low light. 16-18MP is fine but give me great IQ, great low light results, and figure out how to control banding in the shadows.

Canon was too busy working on the massive changes to the T5i.....oh wait.

What they heck have you been doing Canon? While Nikon gets the D7100 & D5200 we get the SL1 and a T4i.2?

I agree with others that this camera should not have the same 18mp sensor as Canon has been using. But there is no excuse that Canon doesn't have a newer sensor ready to go by now. This 18mp sensor has been around for years and been recycled in tons of camera bodies. Who cares about the MP, but the low light quality, softening to reduce moire, and dynamic range are unacceptable in a new 2013 camera.

Sell them both for the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 VC. 1 lens gives you the best of both worlds and the Tamron is sharper than both of those lenses (assuming you are talking about the 1st generation of the Canon 24-70 f/2.8L because the V2 is sharper). The Tamron is a very good overall lens and you get the constant f/2.8 plus stabilization. The Tamron even beats the new Canon 24-70 f/4L IS.
