Reverse 50 with all 3 Kenko extension tubes produces decent results for a fraction of the price of a dedicated macro lens. You will need a flash as well - in this instance I used a 430EXII diffused with tissue paper.
DOF is razor thin so given the opportunity, take plenty of shots of your subject before it flies/crawls/jumps away.

DJ's are usually 40% more expensive than anyone else to start with, so even with any discount they apply they still wouldn't be competitive enough for me to spend my hard earned there

The best offer I've seen recently was from Harvey Norman who were offering the 1100D with 18-55mm kit lens for $388 !! Limited to 1 per customer.
Not bad for an entry level DSLR - my bro took advantage of it and bought one for his daughter for Xmas as she is very keen to take her photography to the next level,

I'm also glad to report they sync with my studio strobes cleanly at 1/200th with 5D III, its max sync speed, without giving me a band on the bottom like Yongnuo RF-603 and Pixel Kings do at 1/200th, which force me to shoot at 1/160th.Nice! I am hearing good things about these - I might pick up two sets and try them out.
I did and can't find a thing wrong with them

Cheers mate - they look the goods. Seeing im very new to off camera flash I wouldn't really know what to look for except for the fact that I would like TTL to allow myself to learn more before I go full manual.
Can't find any in Australia so just purchased a set from HK via ebay.

Looking for a cheap, reliable TTL wireless trigger.
Any thoughts on either of these or is there something else around the same price range I should consider ?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / 5D MKII Shutter Sound

Not sure if this is normal but i picked up my new 5D2 yesterday, threw on my 70-200 after the battery had charged up and started taking pics.
The shutter sounds alot 'heavier' than the ones on my previous Canon camera's which is fine, but right at the end of process it almost sounds like the shutter is groaning if that makes any sense ? First noise when button is pressed is the clunk and immediately following that is the slight 'groan'
Is this how the shutter is supposed to sound or should I look at taking it back as the store offers a 14 day exchange period ?

I'm about to make the move to FF and thanks to this post, it will be the 5D MKII 24-105 kit over the 5D MKIII body only and still have money left over. I've been tossing it up over the last few weeks regarding which option to get but as I was reminded over and over again reading the 7 pages of this topic, I will probably not need the extra FPS and AF as my main interest is in landscape and portraits.
Thanks for convincing me to make the right choice based on what I like to shoot rather than how old the technology may or may not be
