That being said - you both pointed out the chopped off hand and the crooked horizon.  I had her walking on the beach to get a more natural pose and obviously didn't get the frame right.  As for the crooked horizon - is that something I can (should) fix in PP or do I just have to shoot it right to begin with?

It would be best to shoot the horizon correctly to begin with, use the grids on your viewfinder! Because there's only so much you can tilt in post before the subject starts tilting as well.

I spoke with CPS, and they are going to take the camera in under warranty and fix it. I have two dead pixels as well, so I guess its better to just have them service the entire camera. I know I could glue the grip back myself, or just ignore it, but on a new camera, that just doest cut it for me.

My 5dII and 1dIII have 10x the miles and are holding up just fine.....Wish I could say the same about my 5D3.

Please let us know how this turned out. The rubber on the bottom of my 5DMIII started to peel off yesterday. I definitely want to send it in for repair as well if it becomes worse.

ps: with the ST-E3 RT the sync time is down to 1/100s on everything except  a 5D MK3 or 1D X when using radio.
otherwise you will have some shadowing on your pictures.

I have both a Canon 5D Mark III and a 7D and with the 7D I can get a sync speed of 1/250 when using radio.

I understand your frustration! I got so tired of waiting that I started searching every possible retailer that may have it in stock and I came across: berger-bros.com
They had it in stock (I emailed them to make sure and they replied quickly). Their price is good,  fast and free shipping. Definately worth checking out. Oh and they're an authorized canon dealer, I checked on canons website
