The negativity and whining on this site are unbelievable.

Anyone would think that you were being forced to buy Canon gear at gunpoint, and that every camera they produce should appeal to you personally and blow the 1dx spec out of the water but cost £500.

Honestly, this is a great site with an active forum, but the bitching and whining is enough to put anyone off!

I like it, nicley lit, lovely model in a nice pose.

The one thing i will say about the background is the horzion has a strong curve, which makes it look less realistic.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Help! Error 20, Canon 50d

Hi all,

I have a Canon 50d and during continuous shooting it stops and i get " error 20, turn on and off and reinsert battery"

This happens every time a try and shoot continuously and occasionally just trying to take 1 shot.

I'm panicking because i'm going on holiday in two days and i dont want a broken cam! I'm also doing  365 so it could well and truly mess things up!

does anyone have any suggestions? help me please!

With Canon Rumors suggesting the (rumoured) 100-400 4-5.6 will replace both the old zoom and the 400mm 5.6 prime, what are the chances of a 400 5.6 DO lens, priced below £1500, and aimed at the enthusiast wildlife/sports 'tog. Could have and L designation or not, i dont care as long as its good.

A couple from me from the Goodwood FOS moving motor show, shot on my 50d with Tamron 17-50 2.8. Definitely could have done with a longer lens but didn't want to lug my 120-400mm around with me all day!

Wow! Great shot...from only 1-foot away too, amazing it didn't fly away. It seems those macro lenses really do the job. 

@ jimmy156 what made you opt for the EF-S 60mm f/2.8 over the 50mm f/2.5? was just the extra reach?

Thanks! It did fly away, many times  , persistance paid off though!

The main thing that made me opt for the 60mm was that it was bought for me as a surprise birthday present by my other half! It is however superior to the 50mm 2.5 macro in many way, 1:1 focuing, construction, AF to name a few!.

Great shots guys, neuroanatomist you have captured a great moment there!

Here is one of mine, shot on my 50d with the Canon 60mm Macro and a home made flash diffuser. You have to get really close with a 60mm lens, ninja creeping skills are needed!

well, you may want to look again at the pictures in section 2 where Fred Miranda examines and compares dynamic range for the 2 cams ...  and see how ***fully justified*** all the "whining" is!

You mean the part where he pushes the shadows 4-5 stops? Indeed you are right. The performance of the D800 would really have helped in the recent trend of lens cap photographing.

While I would have very little use in pushing shadows 4 stops, surely you must agree that it is very impressive performance from the D800, a cheaper camera.  If you accidentally underexposed an important photo, it would be useful.

Interestingly despite all the reviewers opinions and conclusion favouring the D800, he finished with this

"As you can see from my samples, I mostly stuck with the Canon Mark III on this trip"

If this puppy comes out it will be hard for me not to sell my perfect 17-40 f/4L for this

The 17-40mm is far from perfect. I suggest learning to read an MFT chart as the first step, and then having a good look at the corners of your shots at f/4.

why be condescending? The 17-40L is capable of taking stunning photo's, what else is necessary?

The 60d is expected to be replaced at some point this year isn't it? But i doubt it will be for a little while 'cos it would be completely overshadowed by the 5d III announcement and subsequent release.

What about the speedlight 270exII, more powerful then an inbuilt flash, "bouncable" and much more discreet then a 580ex!

+1 for the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 non VC. I will be getting one shortly, and they're under £300 in the UK so should be well within budget.

Unless you were really really near, you'd have to be cropping in quite a bit on that lens though...

The lens was focused at 1:1 so pretty near! The little fella is probably 20-25mm "arm to arm" so i don't think its much of a crop.

Oh, lmao, not your macro, I love that, a real bit of praise for the 60mm Macro...

I was referring to the original post, using 60mm for shooting planes... especially if the 85 and 100mms are able to shoot it too.  Sorry if I wasn't too clear. 

  ah, i see. Yes that's a good point, i tend to use my 120-400 when i take shots of planes at air shows etc!
