Lenses / problems with canon 50 f1.8

I just bought it today and am having problems
all my shots look "dreamy" in a bad way
and when I tried to MFA with Focal It said the "lens not behaving as expected" and recomended I stop
Is this just a lemon or your run of the mill 50 1.8?
Also am I doing something wrong
All shots were on a tripod with my 7D

Lenses / efs 15-85 or ef 24-105L

both are 30% off of refurbished price and within 10 dollars of each other at canons online store.

both have great image quality
both have IS
one is lighter
the other is weather sealed(I think ?)
one has a longer reach on the aps-c censor
obiously the efs is aps-c only

So which would you pick?

Lenses / Can a refurbished lens be backordered?

I just took advantage of the 20% off and free shipping on the canon website and when I checked my email confirmation it told me the lens was backordered.

How is this possible?  don't they fix then sell or is it sell then wait till one comes in to fix?

Is there an easier way to access the different archives other than finding old posts and using those links at the top of the post?

Like the Archive for the ‘Canon Lenses’ Category etc.

Lenses / Tokina 300mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro AF lens

I ran across this lens for sale and was curious wether or not anybody had used or is using it?
i didn't even know Tonkina made primes.
If anyone can tell me about it i'd be grateful

Considering how the 5DmkIII is more of an evolutionary step does anybody think the next 7D will be more of the same or will it be the next "giant leap" for APS-C kind?

United States / Fungus removal?

I am interested in a used 500 f4.5 but the seller said the glass has some fungus.
can this be cleaned/fixed or is it a walk away it's only going to get worse situation?
