Nice, I assume they will honor the price, if so sit tight, you'll probably have one in a few days time.

Lenses / Can a refurbished lens be backordered?
« on: September 25, 2012, 08:39:18 PM »
I just took advantage of the 20% off and free shipping on the canon website and when I checked my email confirmation it told me the lens was backordered.

How is this possible?  don't they fix then sell or is it sell then wait till one comes in to fix?

Doesn't the "lower build quality" mean that it will be a xxD instead of an xD series?
Just saying that the xD is Pro/semi pro levels and an entry level of "lower build quality" would not be in the upper strata i.e. xxD

Is there an easier way to access the different archives other than finding old posts and using those links at the top of the post?

Like the Archive for the ‘Canon Lenses’ Category etc.

I ran across this lens for sale and was curious wether or not anybody had used or is using it?
i didn't even know Tonkina made primes.
If anyone can tell me about it i'd be grateful

The ONLY issue I have with the 7d is the buffer when shooting raw.  I often run use the 16 frames in 2 seconds and miss shots waiting...

have u tried a faster CF card?
I dont think Ive ever missed a shot from waiting on the buffer, other causes yes (other causes being my foul-ups)

EOS Bodies / Re: The 7DmkII will it be a revolution or an evolution
« on: March 29, 2012, 08:01:33 PM »
It will be a revolution - the 7D will get the guilotine

I don't want to start another one of those threads.
What ever the next high end (pro, semi pro) aps-c camera (7DII) the trend is to up the price.
To justify this, improvements will have to be made.
My guess is that refinements to the sensor and autofocus (also AI Servo) will be made along with dual digic 5+ chips, refinements to weather sealing, and metering (AWB)
When the the 7D came out it was a big deal, a pro body with an APS-C sensor.
Unless there is a breakthough in sensor design my gut says the next "7D" will move forward at about the same rate as the 5DIII did vs 5DII
