Some dude mistook my 5d3 for a 7d today, god damn it, I want a refund now!!!! What's the point of me spending money on the newest camera if people still can't see it is the newest???

I want a firmware where the display flashes "NEW! NEW! 5D mk3, THREE!!"
wear the neck strap :)

I'm not even going to check mine. Life is too short.

It's hardly a drama that a launch version of camera firmware has one or two issues. Not really the end of the world is it?

Anyway, I have pictures of lens caps to take....
brilliant!

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon 5D MarkIII & 1Dx - 1080p/60fps???
« on: April 22, 2012, 02:15:06 PM »
seriously id settle for 48p, why has 60p become such fascination?
coming from shooting film, we would normally use frame rates like 36fps, 40fps and 48fps.
if we wanted real slow motion we would bring in a special mos camera and shoot 96 or 120fps.
60fps was never a go to frame rate...
im sure our 5d's are capable of 40-48fps.

the cropped sensor is the least of my worries, it actually works towards an advantage for focus, the 5d with its full frame is almost impossible for my assistants, even look at shanes act of valor movie, so much out of focus.

unfortunately yes.
i was mad when they said the 1DC's doesnt and how this will be a great thing and what people wanted blah blah blah, yes, so why didnt they do it for the MK3!

EOS Bodies - For Video / Re: Is the EOSHD guy crazy?
« on: April 19, 2012, 07:29:37 PM »
he should change the name of his website.

though if Canon really wanted to shut everyone up now, the only right thing to do is release a firmware upgrade next week that gives us clean HDMI out. that is the only answer. NIkon has it, its foolish we dont. this way we can still have our still camera and for 1500 bucks get a recorder of our choice and make us be able to shoot professional quality video. then we would have professional photography and videography in our hands, that beats the black magic camera in my mind, especially as far as a prosumer market.

Canon, you have to give us something, we are forgetting about you, my 5DMK3 sitting here, feeling down.
all sorts of news about professional products at a consumer prices. i never minded the price of my new 5D, i love this camera, but now, i cant help to feel like id like to own a black magic camera too and just keep the 5D for stills.
at least i can use the lenses i bought, which were as much as the camera itself.

who agrees this is the one upgrade that will break the ice?

i tested mine all day yesterday on my shoot, dark conditions, strong sunlight conditions, even some conditions that we fabricated when we had down time, the only time i could make the exposure move was when the lens cap was on, otherwise nothing. this is an absolute non issue for me, or maybe i just got a good camera, but we tried everything and anything to try to make the camera do what some people are saying it does.  ill just keep on shooting! going on job 4 with the 5dmk3 next week!

41
i have been wanting something like this forever, mainly in order to zoom in and out with controlled zooming speeds and to off and on the camera from a handle. nice!

42
the RED Scarlet is cheaper, i actually think the new canon will be a great camera, but people like to go with what works outs cheaper. you can get the scarlet pkg that included a monitor, batteries, drives, for about the same price.
they have to make the new canon cinema body cheaper then the scarlet body, then i would buy one in a second.
for this type of market its all about making your money back as fast as you can.
one more shoot on my 5DMKIII and ill make my body price back!

43
WTH??? why doesn't the 5dMK3 have this:
"and the ability to view the camera’s LCD even when the HDMI port is connected to an external monitor"
if they thought it was such a big deal to mention it means they know we care about it, grrrrrr.

44
i just cancelled my preorder. damn
