I have the 7D and love it for sports (soccer/ 8 fps) You can go to my website to see examples @ mitchellparson.com

But I hate it in low light. I recently took some photo's with my little girl ice skating at night. The 7D did well but didn't focus that great, due to the low light in and around the ice rink.  I had to do a lot of touch up work in lightroom, these photo's are also on my site to look @

The 7D will most likely be closer to the end of the year or early next year around about this time.

Received confirmation at 9:24 PST from Adorama (ordered a minute after the page loaded)--and yet I just got an email saying it's backordered?  How?  I doubt more than a few people were able to order before me and Adorama should get a huge first shipment.

What have others who've ordered from Adorama found?

I'm sure your fine, they probably don't know how many they are getting and are playing it safe.

Actually when I ordered mine around 12:15 am est. B&H main 5D mark III page said "on back-order" on after an hour or so the page changed to pre-order so I think we are safe. anyways they don't have the product so it really should be on back-order until the shipment comes in.

I want the 70-200 2.8 II IS, but right now I have the 70-200 2.8 non IS. I'm hoping to upgrade soon but I wonder if it's a big enough difference to get or just get the new  EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II But the 5D blew my budget  :o

Update: Well guys...within couple hours. I'm no longer 5d II owner. The camera is sold to local buyer - through Craiglist -- Sold for $1945. I gave the new owner all paper works & receipt. We both happy campers.

Wait --- I made $45 dollars profit???  I bought this camera NEW last X-mas for $1900 at BH and now sold it for $1945. :) :) :)

Gratz!! ;)

Got my order confirmed @ 12:16 est on March 2nd @ B&H (Whats the difference in Back-order and pre-order?) because when I order it didn't say Pre-order yet

but they don't make eye-fi CF cards

But there are a few SD->CF adapters that work with Canon CF-card bodies.  I use one for eye-fi on a 7D.

And given that a compatible adapter is easy to find, I think that argues again for CF x 2 or CF + XQD.

Yes they make a Adapter and I have one also, but they are slower and error out a lot (buffering) when shooting sports

I'm Kinda happy about the Dual SD/CF slots (A little).  I would like to have 2 CF slots, but they don't make eye-fi CF cards, and just maybe, I will be able to get the 5D to work with an I pad 3 instantly ;-) when it comes out.

Some of you might know but I read this a few weeks ago

Do you have thousands and thousands of dollars to spend, and also a love of super-high quality video? Then mark your calendar for November 3 when RED will be announcing details and shipping info for the new RED Scarlet video camera. RED has been making changes to the device in preparation for its debut, but CEO Jim Jannard is keeping things nice and vague for now.

This was from this post from Maximum PC http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/red_scarlet_be_officially_announced_november_3rd

This video camera is expected to sell for around $5000
and is a Still and motion camera

Lots of stuff happening around November 3rd

New Member here, I have been visiting this website for a long time and though it was time to become a member since I visit it everyday.

My Wife and I both have full time jobs but on the side we have been taking Soccer pictures of our son and daughter games.

Our equipment
Canon 7D
Lens Cannon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM

Future ideas and upgrades
-My wife would like to do wedding in the future
Equipment
-5D III
-Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
-and maybe a 300mm lens

I was wondering if anyone would checkout some of our Pictures to give us some pointers especially night time photographs (http://www.mitchellparson.com) and maybe future equipment or lens upgrades

This is our hobby not our profession so don't slam us lol but I know we have lots of improvement to make

The night album is located @ http://www.mitchellparson.com/?p=1781

Thanks in advance ;-)
