Lenses / 35mm upgrade. worth it?
« on: May 04, 2012, 05:39:55 PM »
I'm thinking f selling the 35mm f2 and buy the 1.4
Do you think I will notice the 1000€ in the quality of the pictures?
Has anyone made this move?
My kit:
35/2 50/1.4 135/2

I use the 35mm f2 sometimes as walkaround. Very small. The 50mm f1.4 has better quality, but in small arresta isn't wide enough

Candid shot at the park.

Taken with my 5DMkII.

I only can speak for the Kata bag. I have it for more than one year now and love it!
I carry my iPad and a book (in the laptop compartment.
5D with 50mm f1.4, EOS 300V and 35mm f2 in the cameras compartment.
135mm f2, 430 EX II and other accessories in the main compartment.

It's easy to use and doesn't have the "photography bag" style! It's discreet and cool  8)

This post has wonderful photos. My contribution is not to be taken seriously.
It was taken with a nifty fifty. The bird had just stolen part of my sandwich

My fav is 135mm f2. It's amazing and has a unique signature
But my answer is based on the lenses I have/had.

Not having the right answer for you, I will tell you my upgrade:
I had:
550D + 17-40 + 35 f2 + 50 f1.4 + 70-200 f4 NON IS
Invested in the body:
550D --> 5D II
Sold the 17-40 and the 70-200 and bought the 135mm f2.

Couldn't be happier. Ok, I could, but I think I'm very well equiped.

135mm f2 is addictive!!!!

A White Bull Terrier I caught at Sevilla!

EF 35mm f2 - love the size
EF 50mm f1.4 (can't afford 1.2)

Wouldn't replace:
17-40 f4
70-200 f4
Would buy 135mm f2 instead.

EOS Bodies / Re: Upgrade to 5dmk2 or wait for 5dmk3?
« on: December 17, 2011, 05:50:41 PM »
Hi, I'm fairly new to the forum so please don't be harsh on me.

Anyway, i have a T1i, a 7D that i can use(My sister's, but i wont be using it for a while) and i was contemplating on upgrading to a 5dmk2 because the prices are oh so low. But as we all know, a rumored 5dmk3 may be out in less than a year.

Should i wait or just buy a 5dmk2 now?

I've just upgraded from 550D to 5D II and Have no regrets! But the 7D is better yuan the 550D

I currently have (FF):
35mm f2 (indors)
50mm f1.4 (outdors and portrait)

Wish I had 80mm f1.2  and a macro prime (no matter the focal distance)
