Software & Accessories / Re: Black Rapid and dropped camera?
« on: January 06, 2013, 04:11:05 PM »
I have used the RS-7 for a couple of years and followed the sage advice from Neuro about using a 1" Kirk clamp with some LocTite blue on the fastener.

Never have had an issue or concern carrying any body/lens combo.

Stuff happens all the time, but the BR strap and Kirk clamp are great combo.

Software & Accessories / Re: Compactflash Card: SanDisk vs. Lexar...

I have always used SanDisk caerds with no problems.

It is a fantastic unit, especially for the MP-E 65 lens.  Definitely look at getting the Sto-Fen diffusers.

I use ZAGG InvisiShield on all my LCD products, especially my camera bodies.  ZAGG product includes smaller protectors for top and bottom windows, as well as, the main LCD.

All are good, personal preference is ZAGG.

+1 Agree.  Have had 180mm Macro for couple of years, not fast focus, but definitely not squeaky.  Probably a copy issue.

PowerShot / Re: SX50HS

I've been looking at the same camera (the SX40HS, actually) for a little while as a P&S alternative.  How is the IQ?

Just got the same message...verboten!

EOS Bodies / Re: Pls Advise on testing a 7D on CL
« on: August 17, 2012, 04:47:32 PM »
aside from the standard CL caveats of public place, daylight hours, etc., I would recommend taking your own CF card and laptop to review camera output as you ran it thru some basic tests, such as:
EV bracketing
continuous frame (standard and high speed)
AF tracking
varuious settings in all modes
pop-up flash performance
Auto ISO
you may want to take a (single) go-to lens you are familiar with, so you can have something to metally benchmark against.
physical inspection is only part of the game.
counter-offer low...never hurts to try.
good luck!
