EOS Bodies / Re: 1DX - The Workhorse?
« on: February 05, 2013, 08:56:44 PM »
BIG VOTE for my BIG GUN!!!

1Dx... +5 and why?

because...

1. It's BIG, ideal for big hands.
2. It's for people who can carry heavy stuff, and not complain like a little girl about weight and size.
3. It's a photo weapon, and not a little toy
4. Better ISO.
5. Faster shutter speed 12-14 fps - MONSTER.
6. Louder shutter - I paid 6.200,00 Euro for freekin' camera who gives a sh.. if attracts a little attention (you are photographer, you should have "stronger armour" ...  "thick skin", if you can't handle pressure of few people complaining, and you care a lot about what they all have to say, than you shouldn't do photography... stop crying and start taking photos. (You don't buy a Ferrari, and than drive only in 1st gear, you shift your 6 or 7 gears, and enjoy in speed of light, with big sound coming from your engine, not your speakers).
1Dx = Ferrari
7. Better water sealing.
8. 400000 shutter cycles.
9. Better video quality.
etc...
I hope you get the point why 1Dx over anything else on this planet ...
No hard feelings people, but pay more - get more.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: EOS-1D X Firmware 1.2.1 in the Wild
« on: January 21, 2013, 09:20:26 PM »
Jipppie, another firmware for my beauty coming soon...  :D

O.K. ... now...
calm down ...
take it easy ...
pray for 1080p-60fps ... 720p-120fps ...
I mean ...
that's small compensation for not including (and never probably will) 4K in these beautiful piece of photo-machinery.

C'mon Canon ... let us use all the power from the heart of 1Dx ... from all 3 processors ... give more "juice" to our expensive toys... PLEASE !   ;)

Arch out...

"Soul of the Ancient Forest"

Wonderful image and great post production.  What lens was that if you don't mind?

Thank you very much for your kind comment Studio1930.  ;)
I shoot in raw only in order to pull all kind of "maneuvers" lately in post production.
I used 1Dx +  EF 70-200 f2.8 L II IS USM, combined with B&W S03 F-PRO Serie E (77mm) circular polarizer.

+1,000,000,000

Absolutely fabulous!

Thanks rpt, thanks people, I'm really glad you liked this photo that much.
I really have a lot more to learn with my new Canon equipment, but so far it was a "light jump" compared to my previous camera Sony R1 (it's not comparable, I know), but imagine all the freedom with this piece of machinery!  On my previous camera I used only ISO 400, and even with that low ISO my pictures was filled with noise... and now... oh my God  :o
I feel like I stole something from aliens that came from the future!!!  8)
I loooove my Canon!
And now... there is no limit.
More from me soon  ;)

Video & Movie / "When Rains Return"
« on: September 17, 2012, 08:47:35 PM »
Long awaited rain has finally arrived in my town - Nova Gradiska/Croatia.
I wanted to test Full HD video capabilities, as well as endurance of my new equipment.
Weather conditions was "wonderful", combination of rain and wind, but that couldn't "touch" my waterproof Canon.
This reportage was filmed entirely using Canon EOS 1Dx combined with Canon EF lenses 16-35mm f2.8 L II, 70-200mm f2.8 & Extender 2x III.
I have no experience with filming, this was my 1st. attempt, and more will follow in time.
Please, stay tuned ;)

For these two pictures I used TV as a faint light source.
12800 ISO... piece of cake for 1Dx  8)

This one was taken without tripod, with Canon EOS 1Dx + 70-200 f2.8 II + Extender EF III, and cropped heavily in PS.
I like SCI-FI very much so I played a little adding explosion to the darker side of the Moon  ;D

Here's the link with some interesting comparison between Canon 1Dx and Nikon D4.

Any guess who's the winner?
