Lenses / Re: New Pancake Lenses

Unless we get a 28mm pancake, 40mm is about it.  I really don't expect a new one soon.
me neither. I think it's more a gimmick anyhow

The ultimate dismissal: "targeted to women'. Nice.
at Photokina, the EOS M booth was filled with women trying out the EOS M actually  ::)

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: AF point comparison - D600 vs. 6D vs. 5D MkIII

1.  Upgraders tend to stick to the same brand.  This is a fact proven over and over.
2.  Spec sheets only tell a small part of the story.  They don't mention missing features, and don't tell you anything about how well the features actually work.
3. I just ignore reviews of performance based on spec sheets, they are not going to be of any real value.

Generally speaking you are right, but nothing in these cameras is really new, so I think it's not that crazy to compare how the same technology works in current models.

The D600 is basically a D7000, whereas the 6D is a... 600D.
no, it's a 60D with a FF sensor  :-X

Should I sell my 1dx??

Very confused: 18mpx for $7000.00
46mpx for HOW MUCH?

Confused how?  Why did you buy a 1Dx in the first place?  It is neither a studio camera nor landscape camera so why would you consider selling it for a high MP body aimed at studio/landscape?
very good question...  ::)

Lenses / Re: missing 200-400 and 100-400 announcements?
« on: September 21, 2012, 08:37:46 PM »
Well, maybe you are right.  Who needs this lens anyway,  maybe i'm the only one who could benefit from this lens....  Stupid canon...
If this is your profession so be it. But Canon is stupid in everything related to 200-400 in the sense that they announced it months er year(s) I mean before it will actually be available. They were not professional enough to say even approximately when it will be available
I don't remember it being officially announced...  ::)

Nothing sells better then hype...  Maybe it is part of their marketing strategy... perhaps not so stupid after all.
Maybe you are correct! Stupid? No But professional? Still NO!

2 weeks ago in updated my firmware from 1.0.0 to 2.0.0
Sunday, 16-sep-12  i was taking pictures at a judotournament.
During that day i got 2 errors messages (error 30)
That day i took about 250 pictures (not a very huge amount)
In my prevision firmware version (1.0.0) i never had this problem!!
And i'am NOT working with LiveView

I read that's this is a shutter problem, but i wondering of this could be a firmware problem?!
Anyone has this experience to?

Greet. Manus Maxcap
Think this has nothing to do with your fw. How many clicks does your shutter have?

I was there too. They were all preproduction models with the card compartment taped shut. The AF is really really fast believe me

I don't know, I kinda like it. Pure and simple ;)

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon EOS 6D Official Specs

If they had to criple the body this much (5,6 crosstype,  only sd  ,97% viewfinder..etc)
Then the sensor probably would have been the succesor to the 18Mpx 1dx sensor they had to drop due to resent HiGH Mpx and dynamic range competition.
This would mean that this little camera could have the potentional to make briliant pictures/movies. in the later case you have to manual focus anyway  ;)
The successor to the 1Dx sensor?  ;D

It's brandnew  ???

Imho, it's all up to what you need vs what you can afford...
