This thread title made me very angry - it's Canon fanboys like OP that drive the insane Canon glass prices up. 3rd party lenses can be just as good as Canon's at fraction of the cost. Don't blindly recommend Canon's glass against Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, Samyang etc. - they all have some outstanding products, while having to reverse-engineer the AF communication.

(full info in the PR)

Also, why wasn't XA20 announced?

EOS M with a articulating screen. Possibly a camcorder (aka Sony NEX-VG series). Maybe even APS-C camera with a fixed lens.

If you look at the ping pong player's eyes the absence of the ball isn't surprising - it could still be in the hand of the other player.

canon is seriously blowing it. their lens choices really boggle me? I'd be willing to bet this lens was a very good seller

What the point of having a 24-70 4L IS AND 24-105 4L IS in the line-up? Isn't it a no-brainer to just get the 105?

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon's Mirrorless Entry

Why do people whine about the size of DSLRs? quality has to come at a price - even if todays best quality will be available in a GoPro-sized body, a regular size DSLR would still bring quality, that is that much better.

Also, this is just an early rumor - no one said it's going to have G1X's sensor. Proof is in the pudding - pancake 40mm points towards a bigger sensor (and no new mount?)...

EOS Bodies / Re: How about an app store for EOS cameras?

haha, Instagram on a DSRL... that app is an insult to every decent quality camera there is. First you bitch about DR etc. then you pour the bucket of diarrhoea all over the pic and call it vintage.

I've always associated EVIL cameras as better suited for full-time video AF, since there is no mirror - hence, STM would be appreciated more, since AF would be used more while filming.

pancake form-factor and STM point to a future mirrorless system, FF perhaps?

still no 1080p60? so, if the 5D mk III doesn't have, we'll have to wait for mk IV and the trickle-down effect? lame.

Still my favourite shot with 350D which I'm still using - been torn apart between 60D and 7D for so long now (but also broke):

Also used are Sigma 10mm 2.8 and two slave 430ex flashes.

What about in-camera menus when using the transmitter? That would just be firmware upgrade.

Anyone else interested if 650d will support wireless controlling of 600ex-rt?
