Since this will be a year for lenses, What lens do you desire the most to be released by canon? If your lens is not on here, Post and I will add.

Most should know my vote.  ::)

Fantastic Sharpening Technique! It doesn't ruin colors when sharpening! My new technique for extensive sharpening. I just had to share this.

PowerShot / G15 Sync-speed. What is the limit?
« on: February 12, 2013, 04:15:26 PM »
I've been wanting a HSS with strobes and found a cheap solution. Get a Electronic shutter.

How fast will the G15 sync and can I use my El-cheapo cowboy triggers (It only uses the center-point on the hotshoe) to trigger my strobes? Has anyone used their G series camera like this?

Edit: Found it. 1/2000th but still, any issues with running strobes? Triggering? Pit-falls?

Lighting / Selling off my old strobes, What to get next?
« on: January 16, 2013, 08:15:54 PM »
I'll be auctioning off my hard-working novatron strobes until they sell. I love the power but the flash duration is too slow for me to do any splash stuff.

I've got about a 5 Grand budget and I've been looking into 4x PCB Einsteins but I ask, Is there any other options I should know about?

Camera Body Gallery / Canon EOS 5D classic photos
« on: December 18, 2012, 11:11:20 PM »
This was one of my favorite canon bodies and is still a good choice for budget FF users.

Please post some recent or even legacy photos with the 5D classic.

Third Party Manufacturers / Pentax FF DSLR for under 1499$ at release.
« on: November 29, 2012, 04:48:51 PM »
If Pentax Released a FF DSLR for for under 1499$, Would it take them back to the top like they used to be? Pentax has some great glass but lack-luster bodies. They are cheaper than other options though.

What would it take to consider a pentax system again?

EOS Bodies - For Stills / What do you Love about the 5D3? POLL!
« on: November 09, 2012, 01:39:16 PM »
The 5D3 seems like an under-whelming camera to some CR users. Instead, lets flip the conversation on its head.

What do you like most about your MK3 or about the MK3? My Fav's are the AF and In-camera RAW processing.

2 Votes per person.

Poll Above!  ;D

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Cruise to the Cancun. What lenses should I take?
« on: November 08, 2012, 03:07:16 PM »
I'll be on a cruise to Cancun for 5 Days and Nights. I'll be expecting friends, family and possibly alot of Stock photo's in the trip. Landscapes, people, places, inside the ship at night and some street. I want to pack light, and perhaps a CR user has been on a cruise before.

580 EXII

I was thinking 24-105L + 50L + 580EX II but wondered if I'll really need the 24L for the dark dance floors of the ship. I'm torn.

What should I bring?

Reviews / Review - Canon EF 50mm 1.2L USM
« on: November 03, 2012, 02:19:01 PM »

I'm curious as photographers, Over the years we own different camera bodies and Like to see the progression.

My progression

1999 - My grandfather gave me my Minolta Maxxum AF 35mm Camera W/ 50mm 1.8 & Yashica MAT-124G

2002 - Sold my Yashica and saved cash for a beat-up used Hassleblad 501CM w/ 85mm Zeiss 2.8.

2005 - Bought a old minolta flatbed scanner & A canon 10D w/50mm 1.8. Lightly ventured into 4x5 viewcamera's for landscapes. (mostly not my equipment)

2008 - Sold my Minolta scanner, Hassleblad, Canon 10D. Purchased a Rebel XSI, bought 5Dc, 10-22mm, 50mm 1.4, and 135L

2010 - Broke XSI CPS trade for 7D. Bought 50L

2012 - Sold 5Dc, Bought 5D3 and 24L II.

*Future* - Sell 7D and 10-22mm, Purchase 5D4

Thats Where I Am Now. Lets hear you story!  ;D

Lenses / 24-105L vs 24-70 Tamron VC
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:44:26 PM »
I'm looking for a GP zoom that will fit into my existing prime kit. I will use it for location studio work, travel, and In combo with a Fast prime or two.

I like the 24-105L and I could add my 50L to make my GP kit. The only issue is that for 900$ I'll be getting an F/4 lens, which makes it limited in my live event coverage.

I also like the New tamron 24-70 2.8 VC because of the speed/price. The only issue is it's a tad bit shorter and Makes it awkward to pack my 50L as it covers that focal length already. I could pack a 135L as the combo.

Or I could just continue to use my prime set and I'm just getting buyer's itch. I've been getting around ok but with non-work stuff, a Zoom would be nice. :o

What should I purchase?
