Pelican now has a backpack that is specificly designed for a camera and a laptop.  It is the S130.  ( did a seach on that # here and didn't find anything)

http://www.pelican.com/backpacks_detail.php?Backpack=S130

Has anyone seen one in anything other than pictures?  How it is built for ease of access to camara gear?  As far as the build goes otherwise I assume it is stout as all the Pelican stuff I have or have used is.

Considering getting one but have not seen one in real life.  Anyone got any experiance.

Some of you are unbeleiveable.  Guy asks an question and gets it given too him because he "should already know"

Maybe he is new to the hobby, never shot in wet conditions before, has a lot of $$ for what he wants to affored tied up in Equip and wants to protect it and just wants a little friendly advice on what work best for others.

What happened to giving some friendly advice like only a few seem to be able to do any more.

But it might work out for those video clips that are exactly one frame long too!

Exclusively for video? Hooray!  ::)

These are superb, but I'm confused...are these shots you've just found elsewhere, done by other people, or is this thread mostly about what we've done ourselves?  I have some work, although not many plane closeups like from an airshow.  Alas, there have been several airshows in my area over the years, but I did them all with consumer video, and there haven't been any since I got into digital stills photography.

I will begin posting some of my own shots.  Most of my closeup work, is R/C model planes.  Most of my aerial work, are terrestrial targets, commercial or otherwise.

The ones that I posted are taken by Me.  Using a Canon 50D and some early ones with a 18 - 200 lens.  Some of the later with the 70 -200 2.8 IS.  YOu can click through any of mine to see some more on my Flickr account.

IF you are looking for these and can't find them locally it looks like Amazon is another sourse

I have two of these Philips LED Daylight (5000K) bulbs in some very basic portable stands that I use to light my photo tent from each side.  They are about 5 ft away on each side and light it more than I need for taking shots of things inside the cube.  They work great and I thing they might do what you are trying to do with ease.  They cost about $35 each for the bulb but they will last forever and I have not had one go out unlike incecent bulbs in the 5000K range.
The Home Depot I go to had them on the shelf and that is how I stumbled on trying one and then two.

My guess is that if you saved say 400 over new retail you would never get less than that same difference on a resell.  My opinion is make the decision based on what you are comfortable with an not the future resale.  IT soulds like that at some leve you are OK with it so keep it.  I know I would have and have had no issue with Referb on things I buy including electronics.

Here is what I use for my 50D and 18 - 200 when I need something that is small and doesnt look like  acamera bag.  Has served me will and I think your gear would fit.
