EOS Bodies / Re: Can the new 7d mark ii challenge the 1d mark iv?

I own a 1dmkiv but I am extremely excited to get my hands on the new 7D with the new AF system, having used both the 5Dmk3 and 1dx the new generation system performs a lot better then the one in the mkiv. I photograph wildlife and I consider AF the most important.

WOW people really need to learn to use noise removal plugins. all my bird shots are taken at between 800 and 1600ISO on the 7D.

What converter did you use? I am using Photo Ninja and here are my results

I used the 1dmkiv so I compared it and I am happy with the results especially when you scale the file up and that does not take into account the added crop factor you would have in the field.

the raw files are there but I cant open them

the IQ is a lot better then the 7D and I compared it to the 1dmkiv and it holds its own against that camera.

Awe too bad because I would buy that that camera LOL

Jumps up and down with joy!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the 500 f4 mk1 and with the 1.4 tc on the 7D or 1dmkiv its more then enough for me. It depends on everyone's style though. If you prefer the tripod the 600 will be better but if you like hand holding and are good at getting close to wildlife the 500 is the best.

Found this really interesting in saying how APC sensors can never be good.
Just goes to show 99% of people on this site don't have a clue what they are talking about.
Who knows the 7D mk2 may turn out really good.

EOS Bodies / Re: 7DmkII F8 AF for wildlife?

I think it will have AF at F8 since it will be the top of the line crop.

I think going foreword all the AF will have the same standard I cant see them getting worse,
even the 7D has pretty amazing AF.
