Someone needs to correct the thread heading to say 150-600mm
For some reason, all this time I've read it as 200-600 ... I didn't even realize there was typo, until you pointed out.

you performed a quadruple amputation on your unsuspecting Giottos. How cruel of you! LOL!
;D ;D ;D

Those 'legs/fins' are useless marketing ploys anyway, making it look like a rocket is not a plus in any way, IMHO. I've got two blowers that don't come with these silly fins, they're great. I've got a VisibleDust Hurricane Blower, but the Camgloss Tornado is something excellent.

Stops it from rolling off the table when cleaning lenses. Also for storage on a shelf it stands by itself, smaller footprint.
Good point ... I didn't think of that.
It's a small plus I agree, but not one I've run into a need of. The bellow is ribbed lengthwise by the way, that also stops it from rolling away. Anyway, thanks for clarifying.

Is it just me or does anyone else think it looks like sone kind of sex toy?? And the fact you said it's ribbed doesn't help it's case at all!!

It certainly looks like it could be a great portable wildlife lens if it lives up to their hype and MTF curves. I'll have to keep my eye on this one.

I believe all MBP models since 2011...have the RAM soldered in place at the factory and are no longer user reachable/update able...you have to max it out at order time.

HTH,

cayenne
Not from 2011, I think its from 2013 ... I had replaced my 8GB ram with 16 GB ram for my 13 inch MacBook Pro, 2.9 GHz, mid 2012 model.
I cannot upgrade RAM on my 2013 Retina model now, as it is soldered.

One more generically useless one - a camera bag too small for your gear.

So, I'm not the first one :)
I'm not sure if I should say "Welcome to the club" or "may I please join your club;D ... I have countless camera bags, every time I see a new camera bag I get serious GAS ... because they are not very expensive, I tend to buy them quite often, only to dislike them later on and give it away free when I sell my camera gear.
I recently saw a youtube video, where the presenter says that "Photography is a more enduring and expensive addiction than drug and alcohol addiction, because photographers tend to outlive the boozards and the druggies" ;D

OK, I've been cribbing quite a bit about this camera, so let me at least post a photo ... unfortunately, the weather here still sucks with dust all around ... so this is the best I can get at the moment ... image taken through a double glassed office room looking into the main road. This image is especially for Surapon as we once had a discussion about pink cars ;D ... sorry Surapon, my photos are not as nice as your photos ... in my defense, I blame the bad weather, but give me one or 2 weeks and I'll post some nice photos of Australia ... till then enjoy the pink car without Elvis :D this was a quick image made with Sony a7+28-70

Ha, Ha, Ha---Deasr Rienz.
At least, Some one still love Pink car, After Elvis move to live in Hawaii , and Change his name. No That Pink car is too small for Big size Elvis now, It must to be Cadillac only.
Thanks again my friend.
Surapon
OK Sir, from now on, I will keep an eye only for Pink Cadillic, we don't want large Elvis to have trouble squeezing into small pink cars ;D ... spotting a pink Cadillac might be difficult, but not impossible in Qatar. However, the challenge would be to have my Sony a7 at hand, when I spot a Pink Cadillac, so I can post it here. :)

I really like the 10th image with the wings of the duck folded in front, as if he was praying ... very nice timing.

EOS Bodies - For Stills / Re: Canon EOS 7D Firmware 2.0.5 Now Available
« on: December 12, 2013, 03:43:51 PM »
this time I'm going to wait for a while. I thought about getting wifi to control my 7D with an iPad. That would be a reason to buy a Wifi Transmitter and an iPad for myself if I could control the 7D using an iPad if Canon had a program that would work and allow me to do this.

I'm one of those "crazy" people that did buy the WFT for the 7D. To be honnest, I even don't use it anymore. Adding the WFT, then I need a wireless Antenna to create a seperate network so that my Ipad can make contact with this WFT. To much gear, need 230V,... not that practical.

In mean time I bought a camranger. Marvellous tool. Just connect with a usb cable to the 7D or my 5D3, my Ipad sees the camranger and connects to this network, and I can fully control my camera from my Ipad, and what a possibility you get then to focus in liveview (10x magnified), great stuff. Very satisfied from this product.

Same camranger can work on both Canon and Nikon camera, so fully interchangable.

Fran├žois
+ 1 for CamerRanger ... it is a very useful little tool. The WTF of Canon is down right ugly, cumbersome and bloody expensive ... if they are going to charge so much for that device, they could have at least molded to fit the body nicely ... they should have named it WTF ... it is probably the only Canon hardware I do not like.

Adobe DNG Converter 8.3
The Adobe DNG Converter is a free utility that enables you to easily convert camera-specific raw files from more than 350 cameras to the more universal DNG raw format.

Digital Negative was developed to address the lack of an open standard for the proprietary and unique raw files created by each digital camera. DNG allows photographers to archive their raw camera files in a single format for easy cataloging and access in the future. With the format specification freely available, any developer can build software that supports and takes advantage of DNG. For more information, visit the Digital Negative page.

Support for the following cameras has been added. Visit the Camera Raw page for a complete list of supported cameras.

I have a question for those of you who have used the Lee system (100mm). Is it compatible with the Cokin Z system? I see that their adaptorrings and such are much cheaper.
Yes it is compatible

Good to know ... I know there are several members, who've been waiting for one.
After several years of waiting, I got lucky the last time around with B&H.
