EOS Bodies / Re: Patent: Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L IS

I would get one in particular for video. It would replace my 24-105...

EOS Bodies / Re: Cinema EOS C200 & C400 at NAB? [CR1]

What I am personally hoping for is a camera that does video and pictures better together in one. Therefore it should have an OLED viewfinder of high quality. At the moment my 5DM3 is still the best for this but I really don't like the big Zacuto Z-Finder that I have to use in order to make it useable for video. Maybe one day...

EOS Bodies / Re: 5DIV, 7DII and future of upgrades
« on: December 03, 2013, 04:28:26 AM »
I use the 5D M3. Besides the size and weight there is really no improvement that I need or want (the 6D is almost the perfect camera for size and weight) for taking pictures. They are just perfect. To me it is together with the 6D the perfect photo camera.

But I use the camera as well for shooting videos. They really look great but not as good as they could be. What I would like Canon to implement here is
- better video codec like Prores 422 and maybe raw as an option to achieve similar results what we see today with Magic Lantern and their raw hack which improves the quality way beyond what we currently get
- autofocus with dual pixel af like the new 70D or the upgrade for the C100 will offer but keeping the same great moire and aliasing performance
- much faster fps. Preferred 25,50 and 100 p for slow motion of course at full HD

Some other Magic Lantern goodies would be welcome as well like in camera time lapse etc...

EOS Bodies / Re: Canon Teaser Appears in Korea
« on: November 10, 2013, 04:56:23 AM »
Maybe the camera under the shape is NOT the new product but a camera the designer used to create this teaser.

I would think more about the wording? What could white world mean? Is this like an idiom for something in Korea?

Funny how many people want to jump ship in a few years because Sony is supposedly to be the next big thing. Everyone has expectations that Sony will have great glass to go with the mirrorless in the near future. Canon will simply stand still ... eh?

With such great expectations from a company that is not even making a profit on the electronics division, people around here tend to think that Canon, the largest Camera selling company for the past decade, won't come up with something comparable, if not better.
Jump ship? I guess you missed the part about this camera being able to use lenses from Nikon, Leica, Zeiss and Canon.

I am not jumping ship. I am simply not buying another body from Canon until they release a high resolution, high DR camera, in a light and affordable package.

The A7R will keep me entertained until then.

Could you provide a link to that adapter? Is it supporting AF or MF only?

EOS Bodies / Re: New EOS M This Week? [CR1]

Sounds promising.  If it has:
1. the 70D's sensor with dual pixel af
2. an electronic view finder
3. size similar to the original M (With an EVF it will have to be larger)
I think most people will be happy.  Though there are some that will complain no matter what is released.

On my would-be-nice list is the hope they style it after one of their retro cameras like the canonette or something.

If that happens I get one if the price is right.

Maybe a stupid question and maybe answered on those 4 pages, but is this a full frame lens?

Lenses / Re: Patent: Canon EF 50 f/1.8 IS

IS on a 50mm? Why?

I shoot video, I need IS. The 35 f2 is already fantastic. A 50 w/ IS and the 135 w/ IS would be perfect matches.

I heard no good about the 50's , maybe we get a replacement.

EOS Bodies / Re: 70D or wait for 7D MK II?
« on: July 02, 2013, 01:42:41 AM »
Do you need a new camera right now? Do you need the new features right now? If not wait and see what the 7D2 actually will cost and offer and then make an informed decision.

The new AF system in live mode sounds very promising. Can't wait to see it in action.

EOS Bodies / Re: EOS 70D a New Benchmark in ISO Performance?

Sounds exciting, but what does it mean? Clean at 12000 or 25000? Or even higher? Sounds promising for the 7D MII

Before I make any decision I will wait for the 7D M2. I am not in a hurry. I would have loved GPS and wonder why this is missing. Well, still just a rumor....

Not really revolutionary then. Wondering how long it takes for real new sensors.

If those are as good as the 35 I get both, looking forward to the release :-)
