G1X Firmware???

I just bought my first P&S, something to be light weight instead of always lugging around 2 stone's of equipment.  Anyway, I went with the G1X; I can't seem to find anywhere to update the firmware.  Is there a way to update the firmware?

I don't think there has been a firmware update for the G1 X so far.

I was wondering if P&S's even have updatable firmware, because I cannot locate any menu option telling me what version I am currently running.

Some do, I just applied one to my PowerShot S100 a few days ago.  There's normally no menu option to update the firmware or view the installed version number. The option to update is only available when there's a firmware updater file loaded on a memory card inserted in the camera.
