B&H is currently offering 6% cashback on the EOS-1D X. The in cart price is $6728, so the cashback would be $403.

Reiterating what I said on facebook so maybe more will see it.

DON'T GET BURNED BY THIS! They just did it to me on my body. The % back isn't available with any other offers. which the camera is already discounted. THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE 6% REBATE. I just emptied my cart of all the things I was going to buy after customer service refused to give me my money on a similar deal from months ago. Trust me B&H is doing shady S___ and I am spreading it. Don't support them and certainly don't dupe followers of your blog to believe they are going to get the 6% because they are not.

B&H will not give you any rewards on any item that sin't bought at full price.  If there is any discount at all you DO NOT get the 6% reward after a couple of months.  They refused to give me mine because "the online price was $300 off our regular price."  I told them they were wrong to leave the reward percentage on discounted items openly but they don't want to hear it.  YOU WON'T GET THE 6%.  Trust me.

To me, cashback is CASH BACK.  When I bought a camera last fall from Adorama, I did get a AMEX card back which I could use almost anywhere.
 
However, the fine print reveals otherwise.
 
Purchase any eligible product and receive the specified percentage back in Rewards points (Currently not available with Google Wallet). The percentage is calculated based on the price you pay for the eligible merchandise; tax, shipping & handling and any other fees are not eligible for Rewards points. Your order must be placed while you are logged in to your B&H online account. If you fail to do so, Rewards points cannot be applied retroactively.
Approximately 40 - 60 days after shipment, your Rewards points will automatically convert to a promotional code that can be used on any item we sell. You must use the promotional code within six (6) months of the date it is issued.

6% back is 6% back.  They all know we buy from them all the time.  The kicker is the part you can't use it with any other promotions which any sale off their regular price is.  If you buy this camera at this price they will refuse the 6%.  Whether it cash back, or off your next purchase it doesn't matter, you will not get it.

6% back is 6% back.  They all know we buy from them all the time.  The kicker is the part you can't use it with any other promotions which any sale off their regular price is.  If you buy this camera at this price they will refuse the 6%.  Whether it cash back, or off your next purchase it doesn't matter, you will not get it.

I do not buy from them all the time, and a 6 month limit to spend my points is absurd.
 
As far as getting a credit, I don't expect a issue as long as I follow the rules.  I did read the fine print, and there is nothing about a sale price in it.
 
You seem to be the only one who has had a problem, I've dealt with B&H for 30 years with no issues but  I  do follow the rules in their promotions, and that logged in before you buy might catch some.
 
Lately, I have bought more from Adorama than B&H, but I buy from both as well as other dealers.

I have never once in all the years I've had a relationship with B&H felt that they were ever being dishonest, or trying to mess with anyone. They seem to be a retailer trying to find creative ways to get around MAP, yet still manage to make a margin on products.

I purchased the 85mm f1.2 L at a heavy discount over Christmas time and still got the 2% rebate.  I have a hard time believing they won't honor the rebate.  When no rebate is available, they typically just don't list it.

I've had great success with the 2% back rewarded by Amazon.  They are a top noch company; no gimmicks or jokes.  They reward is credit to buy at Amazon only.  Ebay also gives 2% in Ebay bucks.
