Pretty tempting.  But I have no clue how I would use it.  I don't shoot video.  When I bring only one lens I bring either my sigma 35 or canon 2470. Maybe I will come up with an excuse in a few moments. ...haha

I own the pancake and hardly ever use it. I always end up with the 35 f/2 IS or or 28 f/2.8 IS instead. If you don't have anything else in this range, then it's a great option for cheap.

A lens I'll never sell, no matter how little I use it. It doubles as a body cap that's ready to go. Awesome for travel or pocketing a camera. Sharper and better contrast and color than I expected. Win Win.Now if you shoot 1.6 crop it's a funny FL that only you can decide works for you or not.

I really don't need one but for $129 free ship and no tax I just cannot resist!!  worst case I can just sell it after the BH sale for what I paid.

Since they are owned by Amazon now, I thought I'd check DP Review Gearshop... they have it for 129.00 as well. If you still have $50 coupon laying around for signing up for the Gearshop, that makes the shorty forty 79 bucks.

Not too shabby!

Now see, how can anyone resist this logic? I like lenses that can pull double duty.  :D

$129 is a price I can live with for such a lens. I didn't want to get caught with my pants down like I did with the EOS M so I bought as soon as I saw the post.

To do it or not... Things like this.  :-\  I try to stay away from GAS as much as I can. But this is a good deal. Oh boy. I don't have a 50mm and my other prime is 28mm. Would I use this 40? I've seen reviews but it's so cheap for a lens!!  I have aps-c.  I am planning on getting the sigma 50 1.4 or canons new 50 when that comes out.. Argh! To buy or not..

At $129, I couldln't resist that.  Hell, I've had bar tabs that high before...so, might as well give myself a little stocking stuffer.

I don't have autofocus on my 5D3, of course....I'm guessing you can still manual focus this thing for video though?

But should be fun for Xmas day opening package shots, etc.

I'm saving for my 50mm L f/1.2, but until then, I think this 40mm will cover that basic focal range need till then.

Will actually feel a bit strange with such a short and light lens on my camera.

I have a 50mm 1.4, what would be the advantage of the 40mm?  Does it produce better images, or would it just be slightly wider?

It's well worth it.  Maybe even the best lens bargain there is.  I love that little lens.  Its super sharp and weighs nothing.   Can carry a 6D in my hand all day with it.  Even at $150 its a deal.  :)
