I do a lot of printing, and have recently purchased a Canon Pro-100 inkjet dye printer.
As you may or may not be aware, Canon has had (and may have extended) a $300 rebate on this printer than can be bought from several vendors for $400, including 50 sheets of A3+ 13x19" paper. They did something very similar with the older Pro-9000-2.
If the printer is bundled with one of their better cameras (not just DSLR's), the rebate goes up to $400, so they are basically throwing in the printer and paper.
However, BigValues doesn't carry the Pro-100 printer, so the "bundle" doesn't apply. Drat.
Note: Canon's business model would seem to obviously involve selling a LOT of expensive ink.
King Gillette in the 1800's: "give away the razor handle, and get a pretty price for the blades".
As an ink refiller, this works out really, really well, after tackling the messy learning curve.
