Today I was at  B&H photo trying to preorder the Canon 1DX (Unfortunately they don't take preorder yet and I was told that we may have to wait next year to do it!! ... i don't get that...)

There was a conversation between one of the guy at the shop and a client
they were talking and speculating  that  on n wednesday most probably there will be two big announcement from both company

a 36mp  D800 and a high resolution Dslr from Canon
They were saying that Canon is actually holding an event in New York city were there will show large  prints from a new  pro printer and  newly announced Dslrs  .....

Any one out here that can confirm that?

Thanks
E

Nikon are delaying the announcement of the D800 likely due to the flooding in Thailand - check out Nikonrumors.

I would be very surprised if Canon announce another dSLR this year - too close to the 1Dx.

26th will not be dSLRs, likely printers. 3rd Nov will be some camcorder(s) which support(s) EF & PL lenses.

Just my 2c... ;)
1D4, Pair 1Ds MK III, 5D, 20D IR, too many lenses, too much supporting kit and a poor bank balance to match ;-)

probably a printer printing large images from the 1D X - thats why you have yet to see a big sample from that camera.

You probably right

I just found the invitation
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/content_page.asp?cid=7-11665-11954
An invitation  just for a printer?
Why than the EOS logo?

to me  the 1DX is so far away(half year or more) that it would make sense to announce another camera ready to compete  with coming up D800

Maybe i just like to dream....

As much as I would love it I doubt it. The EOS logo might be their attempt to get more Canon EOS owners to print with their hardware... I know I currently use HP and Epsons for my printing.

Who knows... i guess no one but Canon haha.

Fingers crossed.
