Too far off for my budget... like a decade far off.
Upgrade  path.->means the former was sold for the latter.

For just photos: overkill. Video maybe at the most, but then you need better CFast by then as the data transfer rates are better.

I got me some Lexar CF cards at the weekend, and from a price point they are even cheaper sometimes (look at the 128GB cards for example):
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=lexar+1066&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search=

It is frustrating that Lexar 64GB regular CF cards (which about 10K people including myself have ordered at the lower price point) isn't in stock but 2-card packs are being sold well enough.
I don't understand- is Lexar bundling all the 64-GB cards into 2-packs to prevent the customers from getting the discounted price? This stinks!

I ordered a Lexar 64GB card during the last sale and Adorama told me it was the biggest seller.  Mine came about 2-3 weeks later...  I think it's a supply/demand issue, not any kind of trick on Lexar's part.

For most normal shooting, overkill. For sports, no.

Well, I still haven't received mine either from B&H or from Adorama.
And if they have cards to put into 2-packs, they don't exactly seem to be running out of cards.

Anyway, it seems they will get it next week- just spoke to a rep. Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear that - I hope it comes next week - and not to defend them, but they are probably out of the packaging.  It's a nice fast card, however, and worth the wait, especially for such a low price.

No, you're right.
I'm just being grumpy. Had a scare during my trip as I ran out of space on my cards- I deleted some images thinking they're backed up. Except they weren't.
Fortunately the Lexar software allowed me to recover the images, but they have a stupid key code you need from the original card package (which I had since thrown away, and wouldn't have carried on my trip anyway). So I had to wait until after the trip to recover them, when they mailed a key to me.
That made for unnecessary anxiety during the trip and one 16GB card I couldn't even touch, pressing me further for space.
Ah, well... end of rant.

Like many, I got the 64gb 1066x Lexar cards for $88 a pop when they were on sale. Ordered in May and they didn't come until last week. It's really a supply/demand issue - they will come eventually.
My photography equipment goes here, apparently.

Just shoot jpeg small, plenty of room!

Oh, the joy! Just checked the order status page at B&H (usually I checked it about every 15 minutes or so, for past 2 months)

It just changed to: Status: In stock, order sent to warehouse Expedited Delivery
