More Images From Shanghai
« on: March 01, 2012, 06:04:01 AM »
5D Mark III Everywhere Below are some more images from the Shanghai setup. Various posters showing the likeness and name of the camera. Also included is another invite graphic. It mentions “speed” & “quality”, two things most seem to want from the new camera, me included.

Thanks everyone

What do you have circled in the stage shot?

Tarp covering something. Its on the opposite end of the 1Dx words, so most are assuming its the 5DIII

What do they have circled in the stage shot?

Since it says EOS 1D X on the right hand side it's clearly going to say EOS 5D Mark III underneath the part that's covered up on the left

"2nd March 2012; 3pm to 6pm" - so that's 8am to 11am tomorrow, here in the UK and 3am to 6am if you're on the East Coast of the USA.  I can see some North Americans getting up early tomorrow!

I think we quite sure about specs. Now just the price. If under 3000, im gonna put my mark2 and 35 1.4L on sale.

To me it looks like Canon has got it wrong: it is not "Speed & Quality" what is needed but rather "Quality & Speed".

I even have some hesitations over the latter. While there definitely IS the need for some very specific applications, most of the time it looks to me it is just about pointless high speed shots and even then heavily cropped to save what there is to save because of mindless shutter clicking.

Don't know it is just the angle or if it is just me but does the mirror on the 5D MKIII look more like a 16:9 size instead of the standard 3:2 size?

I've got a poster on the wall in my office that says:

Speed
Quality
Price

pick any two...

I got it from my VW mechanic.
