If that is also true, this is going to piss me off.

2012 was the year I planned to do major upgrades on my gear and be set for the next 5 years, now it's become a joke of a waiting game to see when stuff actually appears.

First, the 1Dx on pre-order get pushed back all the way to June, so the 7D remains my sports workhorse for now.  Then the 5D3 comes out and I have about 5-6 hot pixels staring me in the face which I have never seen in any Canon I've owned before, hence the surprise when I saw that.  Thank god for manual sensor cleaning to at least map them out.  I seriously thought about returning the camera if I had not promised the sale of my 5D2 to my assistant and needed the 5D3 for a couple of weddings on the calendar (more assistant waiting for my second-hand gear notes below in the 24-70 delay).

Next, we get the 24-70 f/2.8 L II shoved back to I'm sticking with the 24-105 f/4 IS L for that range of work for now and telling my assistant that wants to buy it that he just has to wait a bit longer.  Judging by the product graphs, it looks to be a great lens, even better than the 70-200 f/2.8 IS L II, but right now it's just vaporware.

We've had lots of super-tele lenses announced and they don't appear for 18+ months, a flagship camera delayed over half a year (so far), a light leak (minor, yes, but still come on!), and a stack of Cinema-style cameras and lenses that as far as I know, no one can actually buy yet.

But we got a 1Gx and a 60Da astro camera.....whoo-hoo.....

Next we'll see a delay on the Wifi module......I'm still looking at that thing and wondering --> why did they make it plug into the freaking USB port and hang off the camera????  It defeats the weather protection so you can't shoot Wifi tethered outdoors in dicey weather!!!   :o
