That second video might interest the Apple patent lawyers....

Huh?

What patent(s) are you talking about, a touch screen, gestures?  Apple has NO case here.

Why the hell did a Rebel get this technology first and not a flagship camera like 1DX or 5D Mk III? As a 5DM3 owner, I would seriously like to know.

meh, novelties. I wasn't impressed with the touch screen on my Sony Mini DV camcorder in 2004 and this doesn't impress me here (sure it's more advanced but still..nothing groundbreaking). my fingers are much faster with buttons - I don't want to mess around with the screen like a noobie at a computer keyboard using one finger to type everything... but then again I'm never going to buy this camera so I suppose I'm talking out of my ass! haha

Because it's gimmicky and not useful?

Because it's gimmicky and not useful?

Reviewing pictures with pinch to zoom and drag to pan would be a HUGE improvement over push zoom button, scroll dial to zoom, nudge around joystick to pan.

In fact, I would say it's analogous to when Google Maps introduced mouse scroll to zoom and drag to pan. Do you remember what using Maquest with its zoom slider and navigation arrows that you had to click was like?

I don't care about the settings aspect.

With Digic 5?  Don't think so.

Edit: It appears to be Digic 5+.
