Help: Preview currently does not support this raw file format

That's the message I get when I try to open raw photos taken with my Canon S100.

Any suggestions?

What version of Mac OS X are you running, and when did you last apply a digital camera RAW update?  Preview has no problem opening my S100 RAW files.

I'm running 10.6.8

I tried to do another update to digital camera raw, but got this message: "This update provides support for Aperture 3 and iPhoto 9 only."

I can preview all other raw images, just not the ones taken with the S100.

Two things to try:

1) Download an older version of the Camera RAW update, maybe it doesn't require iPhoto9 or Aperture 3.  Update 3.9 was the one that added S100 support.  http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1473

2) Try the steps listed here.

Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, the first link does require iPhoto9 and Aperture 3. And the trial version of Aperture is no longer available.

When I clicked the link, the Aperture 3 trial started downloading...

That's odd. Nothing downloads for me. I can only click on the "Buy Now" option.

If it's important, I suppose you could just buy the iPhoto update. That's pretty cheap, although it's still annoying to have to do that…
